This plenary will feature Professor Jacquie Kidd and Professor Sir Colin Tukuitonga, followed by an international Partnerships Panel including:

🌿 Dr Rodney Haring (USA)
🌿 Professor Tom Calma (AUS)
🌿 Talia P. & Lea Bill (CAN)
🌿 Te Miri Rangi & Anna-marie Ruhe (NZ)

Together, they will explore how strong relationships, whānau voice, and shared values shape Indigenous-led research, advocacy, and system change.

Wellness and nervous system regulation can absolutely be fancy— biohacking gadgets like vagal nerve stimulators, peptides, supplements.

And hey, I love them too; I’ve seen them work wonders for people chasing peak performance.

But the truth is, I recommend these free nervous system regulators to my telehealth patients just as often—like solid sleep routines, gentle walks in nature, or even breathing through a tough day without spiraling.

Those aren’t glamorous, but they’re essential game-changers for keeping your nervous system regulated and calm.

Sometimes, chasing the perfect protocol or the next thing to buy or consume or try means missing out on just being consistent with the simple stuff that’s already right there. Consistency is the ultimate biohack.

Mauri Ora e hoa x

There are moments in the life of a kaupapa where intention becomes reality. Our recent staff recruitment wānanga was one of those moments.

After receiving more than 300 staff applications from across Aotearoa, we moved into a final stage alongside Niche Recruitment, led by Moana Jane Temel of Ngāruahine, Ngāti Ruanui and Te Whānau ā Apanui. From this process, twenty candidates were invited into wānanga. During the wānanga, we stepped beyond CVs and into lived experience. Through whakawhanaungatanga, shared kōrero, practical engagement, and collective reflection, each person revealed who they were when placed inside the kaupapa itself. We were looking for those who could carry the mauri of this kaupapa, those who could hold connection without control, bring restoration without ego, teach without diminishing, and contribute to something greater than themselves.

Selecting the final group was one of the hardest processes we’ve been through. The depth of those who stood in that space made it clear that
Aotearoa holds immense capability. But clarity emerged, and from that clarity, a formation was chosen.
