Waimakariri Silver Tent I believe that women need to sit in circle, not because we need healing, for we are perfect as we are, but because we need replenishment. Women need to go deep.

Sitting in circle nourishes the soul, the heart and the spirit. DDawn Maley | Sacred Space Holder | Crone Witch | Circle Facilitator

I’m a pagan witch, celebrant, and ritualist living in beautiful North Canterbury. With years of experience creating transformational spaces for women, I host sacred circles, seasonal celebrations, and heart-led gatherings that nourish the soul. Trained as a Red Tent

facilitator and part of the Braided Women Gathering since 2016, I’m now stepping fully into my Crone years—called to share wisdom, compassion, and connection with other mature women through Silver Tent circles and community rituals. I’m also a mother of four queer kids, a Clinical Aromatherapist, and Massage Therapist. My passion is helping women feel seen, supported, and empowered—just as they are. Let’s gather. Let’s remember who we are. 🌙🔥🌿

Being in a circle or community with other women who have open, generous hearts helps regulate the nervous system. Helps us settle into our bodies and feel safe to open up and be ourselves.
Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday afternoon.

✨❄️ Today we celebrate Yule — the Winter Solstice ❄️✨
This is the longest night and the shortest day of the year — a time of deep magick, firelight, and quiet hope. For our ancestors, this moment meant that the sun’s long journey back to warmth and life had begun. The dark was turning. Light would return.

Across cultures and centuries, people have honoured this turning point with sacred fires, rituals, feasts, and gratitude for the sun’s rebirth.

Even now, winter can feel heavy — with its illnesses, cold nights, and grief for what we’ve lost. But like the Celts, we can choose to see the darkest night as a promise: spring will come. New life will return. We are traveling towards the light.

Tonight, light a candle, sit by the fire, or simply pause to welcome back the sun. May hope and warmth find you, wherever you are. 🌙🔥🌲✨

Greetings Wonderful Women

I hope this post finds you enjoying the beautiful sunshine after a very gray week. A very wintery week, all I wanted to do was sit by the fire and curl up with a good book.

We are a week out from the Winter Solstice, I have a beautiful meditation that is coming together quite nicely, along with the gathering all the bits for a craft activity I am planning for the event.

I look forward to sharing the space with you next week.

To secure a spot please this link https://events.humanitix.com/waimakariri-silver-tent-winter-solstice-circle

Alternatively, if you are planning on coming and paying cash on the day can you please let me know so I have enough Wassail and craft supplies.

I am looking forward to seeing you all as we celebrate the shortest day and the longest night.

Now I off to officiate a wedding this afternoon

Warmest Blessings

What beautiful words for this time of the year.

As the Southern Hemisphere tilts away from our life-giving sun, we approach the sacred pause of Yule. A moment when darkness reaches its fullest expression and the promise of returning light whispers through the winter air.

In these shortest days, when morning light arrives late and twilight comes early, the Cherry Ballart is heavy with its crimson fruit, while the wise Warin retreats to her burrow, conserving energy for the season ahead. These natural rhythms call us to turn inward, to honour the fertile darkness that precedes all new growth.

Craving pumpkins
Does anyone want to come and carve a few pumpkins with me?

I'm thinking about making some for Samhain.

I was thinking next Sunday or Monday so the 20th or 21st.
Is anyone keen?
