📌 Retinol is not banned, but it is now strictly regulated in Europe and Saudi Arabia due to safety concerns.
Maximum allowed concentration: 0.05% in body lotions and 0.3% in facial products (serums, creams).
Why? Retinol (Vitamin A) accumulates in the body from skincare, food, and supplements. Overexposure may lead to skin irritation, headaches, hair loss, bone fragility, and serious birth defects during pregnancy.
From Nov 2025, all new products must comply. By May 2027, non-compliant products will be banned from the market.
💡 Remember: Higher percentage ≠ better results. The key is using the right product at the right dose under medical supervision.
