LOOK WHAT JUST SHOWED UP AT THE FISH CAMP!! A while back Sue and I were looking at a couple of Laurel trees and we started to talk about making a bench using these trees that were trying to fall down but had not succeeded. Then Sue left and I started to think to myself that maybe a Marlin carved into one of the trees might look pretty great! I do this a lot when I am alone. I foolishly thought that I could do this woodcarving job myself. Then I met Jose' and Kadir who live in the fishing port south of David, Panama. This father/son team do some of the best wood carving I have ever seen. I got HOOKED on this one, which is the first, but not the last carving for Reel Inn in Panama. Note the fine craftsmanship in each and every fish, and the paint job finished this sculpture off in almost iridescent colors!!

Oh yeah the bench is still a work in progress, but soon to be unveiled with the help of these two Artists!!

Mike and Suzi from New York; and now considered locals in Panama. Their house out at Playa Hermosa is almost finished and they decided to do a little more fishing. I headed north to see THE FAM in South Florida last week. I am not sure exactly what happened but my Son Sean, his Lady Jen, Sue and I ended up in Sebastian Florida...about 2 hours north of the Concrete Jungle of Miami and Ft. Liquordale. This was the ultimate Wild Hair act! Saturday afternoon we stopped off at a waterfront establishment for an adult beverage and we suddenly found ourselves surrounded by a very interesting group of people. They all had Silver and Gold Coins that they were wearing around their necks like Badges of Honor. BIG CHAINS of gold!! We were surrounded by Pirates!! They were all retired and current Atocial divers!! For those of you who are not familiar with the Nuestra de Senora Atochia she was a Spanish Galion that sank in 1623 West of Key West where our family called home for 15 years. Our kids grew up around the divers and families of the divers from the Atocia...and here they all were some young...some old...lots are gone now but the Fisher's Family and Team carry on in fine fashion. So we found ourselves in the midst of all of these hero's of the Treasure Diving World who invited us into their inner circle. Sean even won the 50/50 raffle and got a big wad of Hundreds from 2 of Mel's Grandkids He bought right back in and now has his own Badge of Honor from the Atocia!! Note Sue photo bombing again!

It is with much sorrow that I announce that Lily Levy has passed away here in Panama. You might say "who the heck is Lily Levy"?? Well if you have fished with us, you probably know her better than you think. Lily is Captain Chuy's Mother in Law...Katy's Mother. Many years ago as I was getting up at 430 am in order to make sandwiches, cut pineapple and get things geared up for the trip that day. I thought that just maybe I could talk Lily into making us some fried chicken for our lunches, and save me some time. Well this caught on big time!! I had a customer one day catch a Bill Fish Grand Slam (3 different billfish in one day). This is something that VERY rarely happens...like almost never!! The fisherman wrote up how good the chicken was that day! When Lily started to get weaker about a year and a half ago Katy took the reins of the Best Chicken Cooker in all of Panama', and has excelled at the task.

I will miss Lily's sweet smile as she gets the lunch ready for our day. That bloody kitchen was hotter than a pistol, and Lily was always sweating like a pig...but the chicken was ready on time and delivered with a smile. Rest In Peace Lily...61 years old is just too young to die!!

Bucket List Fishing and Reel Inn in Panama are PROUD cosponsors of the Boca Chica Football Club. The season has started off with a 2 and 1 record...I think that is more wins than they had all last season. Way to go boys. For those of you who fish with us will notice a few familiar faces. Football season works out pretty well for these guys...about the time the fishing season is winding down...the football season is just winding up. Please wish this fine bunch of guys luck in the upcoming season!! GO BCFC!!!!!

AMBUSH!!!!
This was a Yellowfin Tuna hookup for our customers yesterday. Notice how Capt. Chuy has quietly positioned the Dolphin Dancer directly in front of a school of porpoise balling bait...hundreds of them. Then Mate Papucho and Walter, our customer, drop the live bridled Bonita back. Papucho"s rod picks up the bite and he expertly sets the hook in a fantastic 80 pound Yellowfin Tuna!! Listen to the drag sing on our brand new Penn International 50 Series VI reel. Walters son Taylor got the call and grabbed the rod and made short work of this mighty fish that got AMBUSHED by the crew at Bucket List Fishing Charters, and Reel Inn in Panama. Come on down and check a couple of your Bucket List Fish!!
