As part of Women’s Month, we had the pleasure of welcoming Women in Supply Chain (WINS) to our Operations Center in Lima, where we hosted a technical visit to our cargo warehouse.

During the visit, we shared insights into our operations, the processes that drive efficiency across the logistics chain, and the key role the airport industry plays in connectivity and the development of trade.

Initiatives like this strengthen collaborative learning, foster knowledge exchange, and reaffirm our commitment to developing talent and promoting female leadership within the logistics and airport industry.

Day 2 at the IATA World Cargo Symposium in Lima.

Today, Guillermo Vega, our Regional Manager - Safety, Security & QA, participated as a panelist in the first session of the morning, “Perishable Cold Chain Requirements.” During the discussion, he shared insights on the importance of maintaining strict temperature control, operational standards, and protocols across the air cargo supply chain, highlighting IATA’s international certifications and manuals as global references to ensure the integrity of the cold chain across all categories, with a particular focus on perishable and pharmaceutical products.

As a key fact within the global air cargo ecosystem, Latin America is one of the main suppliers of fruits and vegetables to Europe, underscoring the critical role of reliable and efficient cold chain logistics in preserving product quality throughout the journey.

Day 1 at the IATA World Cargo Symposium in Lima.

Today we had the opportunity to attend the presentation “The Biological Clock: From Cold Chains to Product Vitality Crossing the Atlantic”, delivered by Guillermo Vega. His session highlighted the importance of efficiency, control and reliability in cold chain logistics to preserve product integrity across global supply chains.

It has been a great start to the symposium, reconnecting with partners and industry leaders from around the world.

Today, our Madrid-Barajas cargo terminal welcomed a delegation from AENA, composed of 13 representatives from the planning and commercial areas, led by Tomas Vázquez, Head of Air Cargo Development.

With only a few weeks remaining before the start of operations, the delegation had the opportunity to learn firsthand about the progress of the project and the terminal’s design, highlighting its efficiency both in concept and ex*****on timeline.

We continue moving forward in the development of infrastructure that will strengthen connectivity and operational efficiency within the airport logistics ecosystem.
