Less than two weeks to go until we embark on an adventure to the magnificent Peruvian Amazon rainforest for Intertwining Medicines non beginner retreat and our first Shipibo dieta for those who we have personally worked with and are ready to level up their commitment to the path. This has been in the making for years, and I’m over the moon to see my vision finally come to fruition.

In Todd’s and my last personal dieta, three months with el rey Shihuahuaco, we both felt with absolute clarity that non beginner retreats and plant dietas are the direction we want to expand our offerings for Intertwining Medicines. We are currently the only retreat space offering intermediate/non beginner containers.

To those packing their bags soon to meet us in the rainforest, we are so excited to have you on our first ride into those ineffable plant dieta realms where human language can’t define or describe the journey. As they say, you never forget your first. 😉 This is so special for everyone involved.

We have fun here. 🌿

Yes, ayahuasca can be fun if we give ourselves permission to blast into the full spectrum of feeling. Have fun and get a little playful even when it’s heavy. Especially when it’s heavy. There’s a time and place for all of it.

Sprinkle laughter into the psychic surgery because that also plants seeds. What’s worth calling in if it doesn’t bring joy in every cell and smiling eyes?

A farewell to our most recent guests who journeyed together into the heart of grief, pain, fear, laughter, bliss, love and everything inbetween. ✨ I’ve certainly never experienced a retreat quite like this one, and for that I bow in deep gratitude for the AWEsomeness of how these things play out better than my feeble human brain could plan for. I commend the bravery it takes for every person turning toward those internal spaces that most people don’t have the guts to confront.

I say this often, but I freakin love ayahuasca, the Shipibo lineage, shamanic healing arts, all of it. 🌱 It never gets old to say it just as it never gets old to participate in it. It really is the gift that keeps on giving.

There’s potent magic and medicine in your roots.

The grand Mojave desert, the wild western city of Las Vegas, teaching Bikram yoga again after many years, catching up with dear friends who I’ve been missing in my heart, Red Rock Canyon, the Neon Graveyard, and dancing down memory lane with the most epic family reunion I’ve ever had. 🥲

I even managed to squeeze in the shortest ink session yet and finally got my star dust “Vegas tattoo” as homage to my sparkly hometown. Who knew these tiny stars could represent and hold so much meaning for me?

I kept teleporting here whilst in my recent plant dieta, aching to touch into “home” and make peace with all the pain from my former life, and to appreciate from my heart everything that I had rejected about my Las Vegas past. All of it, the good and the bad and everything in between, was absolutely perfect and necessary despite it almost killing me on many occasions. How wonderful that all of it was always working in my favor.

Sin City helped to sculpt me into the woman I am today, and I’m so proud of her.

Yoga is an avenue of self exploration. The body is not what it was yesterday, nor is it yet what tomorrow will bring. It’s a practice of anchoring into the present without resistance, without expectation, and without attachment.

Que sera, sera.

Can we mentally submit to a steady and intentional rhythm of breath whilst in uncomfortable asanas? Can we hang up the thoughts that cloud our focus and commit to the aspects of surrender that feel triggering? Because there are absolutely some days where yoga can feel triggering, and other days it feels absolutely liberating. Can we show up with the same centeredness and equanimity no matter the day?

This practice is many things for many people. More and more lately I’m seeing my personal practice as another sacred mirror like ayahuasca apprenticeship. It’s my powerful integration tool, my daily prueba of concentration, my little space for continued self dissection.

Mastery isn’t some level to be achieved, but an unfolding journey of repetition with curiosity and mindfulness.

When humor is your lifeline through the underworld… ⚓️😂

More is revealed every time I enter ayahuasca’s class room in the powerful and amazing containers of sama (dieta in Shipibo). The final ceremony of these last three months: I was given a test of brujeria (black magic) and an onslaught of the world’s suffering, sadness, trauma, and despair. It was only a test, an obstacle course… holy madre, I barely passed that test. That wasn’t even as inky as the dark can get, nor was it a direct attack. It felt akin to Neo entering an uploaded training program to learn how to fight in the Matrix. An exam to prepare for the real deal.

So how does one not get absolutely steam rolled when these energies cascade into a ceremony like a black tsunami? What do we do when our previous strategies and tricks to bind to the higher frequencies get covered in tar and demonic portals try to suck you into a hell realm?

The only people who understand how to navigate the complex dimensions of ayahuasca are those who train and train and train in the spaces of dieta. Years in the making to have the strength and capacity to hold and transmute darkness. These are the true plant medicine alchemists, spirit doctors, and energy specialists.

My deepest respect for those who commit their lives to ayahuasca curanderismo and constantly widen their ability to be so anchored in the strength of plant allies and god that not even satanic energies can knock over their lighthouse.

The language of light we learn/develop through plant diets doesn’t have words, but there is always a thundering message to keep that channel alive, clean, clear, and rooted. I’m grateful to be learning and seeing more than I ever thought I could handle.

Please let this be a reminder to only sit with extremely experienced and well guided maestros in ceremony. There are so many charlatans and false shamans out there who have never touched into these spaces, or they outright disregard it because “it’s all light and love.”

Yes we must hold the light and love frequency as best we can, but to blindly pretend darkness doesn’t exist in a world of duality is yet another example of spiritual bypassing and the dangers therein.

It’s my sweet king’s birthday today, and even though we are still in dieta together (oof less than three weeks to the finish line) I wanted to post and shout it into the Instaverse how absolutely brilliant this half human half tree is. [More incoming tree references soon.]

What an honor to witness your daily transformations and strength shine so brightly in these last 2.5 months of shared dieta, my love. You’ve always been strong, unafraid of self confrontation, and fearlessly stepping outside of your comfort zone on repeat. You are the embodiment of mature, solid, and safe masculinity which melts my heart over and over while inviting the deepest, most delicious exhale as my nervous system continues to re-pattern itself with your stability, loyalty, and trust. Our partnership has gifted me some of the deepest healing of my life through the most beautiful connection with you. ❤️‍🔥🥹

I love you and am so so so so proud of you. The fact that we can traverse these insanely intense shamanic journeys together and still share belly laughter especially on the extremely challenging days says more than a piece of paper binding a legal marriage ever will. Our souls have been married many times on this path before, but this time is something different. Raices mas profundas con mi Xawan.

What an absolute honor to walk by your side and call you my beloved every day. This wild adventure of Shipibo apprenticeship is one that few will ever walk, even more rare to share it with their best friend. You are literally my dream come true… and I’ll never forget that magical dream of you and I before we were destined to meet in the 3D. My soul knew you were arriving. 🌹

A little hello before a little see ya later…

Entering a month (or possibly two) classroom of quietude, fasting, and ceremonies with the grand Shihuahuaco tree of the Amazon that has been a multidimensional game changer for me and my life’s work. It’s taken over a full year of accumulated time in diet to arrive here and I very much understand why a lot of experience is needed for this one. My diet with Shihuahuaco earlier this year was not a long one, but I was absolutely blown away by the pruebas and dreams alone not to mention what has solidified in these past months of integration.

Thank you to my amazing teachers who always believed in me, and gave me endless strategies for navigating the dieta labyrinths and mental matrixes. Always in my heart in every ceremony.

Thank you to our incredible Shipibo maestro for holding this powerful space for us to learn while sacrificing his own time and life’s pleasures to be a pure vessel through which this infinite wisdom of plant consciousness is transmitted. And thanks for trusting us to responsibly carry this warrior spirit of Shihuahuaco, both its light and its shadows. I see it as an arboreal AK-47 with a James Bond level of stealth. Caution, discernment, discipline, and respect are required much like a samurai trains and grows with a katana sword.

Thank you to myself for not throwing in the towel when things have gotten hard on this path, sometimes terrifying, pushing me to the cliff’s edge where one more millimeter would have been a psychotic break. I built strength with deep roots anchoring into solid rock and a tower of faith touching the skies above the canopy.

I am ready to learn where only devotion can reach and teach.

Returning to the Amazon rainforest always feels like coming home. Particularly this section of the Amazon which is rich with fresh rivers and waterfalls.

Yesterday I sat in hot springs along a river that was lined with the largest bobinsana trees I’ve ever seen in the wild. I don’t even need to be in dieta here to feel the medicine come alive through me. Just breathing in this environment is in itself healing. Nature’s reset button.

As Todd Michael Roberts and I continue to grow and evolve, the spirit of Intertwining Medicines does too. Next year we will begin serving medicine at a second location right here in Amazon rainforest, this perfect intersection where the jungle meets the Andes, a pristine landscape with slightly higher elevation than the Amazon basin. Still home to the medicines of the jungle but with a much more comfortable climate and less mosquitos. Still our very intimate setting of 5-7 guests per retreat.

I cannot wait to share this magical place with those who are called to connect to the birthplace of oni. I have traveled to many jungles around the world including those in Mexico, Central America, Asia, and Indonesia, and while they are all uniquely beautiful, I can confidently say there is no jungle on Earth quite like the Amazon rainforest. 🌿

Here we are again, preparing to go spelunking in the spirit world. What an interesting time to be entering Intertwining Medicines deepest container yet whilst in the underbelly of eclipse season. Never a coincidence!

Todd and I created this unique retreat as an intermediate space for those who have experience with Shipibo medicine and are interested in advancing their ayahuasca development. Currently there are no other ayahuasca centers with this unique offering... it’s either retreats for beginners or jumping into the abyss of plant dietas. Now we have an intentional space for the non beginner, and next year we have our first Shipibo plant dieta offering limited to 5 people- and already there are only three spaces remaining. 😍

I am gushing with gratitude with the interest of plant medicine, it’s truly amazing, especially this piqued interest with the revered tradition of the Shipibo. I have been apprenticing full time for the last five years within the Shipibo tradition, and the gifts I’ve received along with the tools I’ve gained are nothing short of mind blowing. My first 9 years of ayahuasca were held in mestizo traditions and [rather shamefully] non traditions (IE in someone’s living room with a “shaman” playing a guitar). It wasn’t until I was introduced to the highly sophisticated energy arts of Amazonian curanderismo that I discovered Shipibo healers are the “crème de le crème” of ayahuasca shamanism.

The Shipibo path of diets, which is very disciplined for good reason, is not for everyone and it’s certainly not for beginners. If you know, you know. If you don’t know but want to know, well, get in touch. 😉

We have one more retreat available this year- our well loved Solstice Celebration Ayahuasca Retreat- aligning seasonal change with inner change and intertwining prayer, ceremony, and all of our favorite medicines. Finishing with a visit to Machu Picchu on the solstice December 21. Did you know the citadel of Machu Picchu and the temples built there by the Incas were perfectly constructed for solstice ceremonies?

Happy New Moon in Leo from the Cathedral Rock vortex of Sedona! 🏜️ A sunrise hike of total splendor.

It’s been more than 30 years since I was last here. Sedona has changed a lot from what I remember. There are more crystal shops, psychic readers, and energy healers condensed in a five mile radius than probably anywhere else in the world yet I’m not drawn to any of it. I’d rather sit in silence and enjoy a Justin’s peanut butter cup with a view.
