The Amazon Promise medical team is about to leave for the jungle. Most of the medical supplies, dental units, food, and water left early Saturday around 6am.

A few photos of our visit to Betsaida to check on the new potable water system!

The people in the village of Betsaida continue to make improvements to their new potable rainwater system installed a few months ago.
Jose Valles recently traveled to the community for a wellness visit. They've added educational signs on the system in both Spanish and Kukama, as well as garbage collection bins.
The community is looking good and feeling proud of the positive changes!

We took a boat out to the jungle today to visit Jose Valles, Amazon Promise special projects manager, and the Engineers Without Boarders Missouri team to get a look at the brand new beautiful potable rainwater system they just finished building.
The people in village of Prado on the lower Maranon river now have delicious clean water to drink.
Construction took three weeks.
Check out those six beautiful tanks!
What an amazing day!

Tomorrow is the inauguration, just in time for Peru's independence day celebrations July 28th.

What an awesome Amazon Promise medical outreach team!

400 people received medical and dental care, full lab work, PT consults, health education, and individual STI counseling/testing last week in remote communities of the lower Ucayali and Yarapa Rivers.

Thank you to all our volunteers, and of course the excellent AP Peru team.
So happy to be back in the field.

Back at my storage space packing medical supplies and a few other goodies for the July medical team that begins on the 12th.
We'll be providing medical and dental care, lab exams, general health and HIV education and counseling.
