We took a boat out to the jungle today to visit Jose Valles, Amazon Promise special projects manager, and the Engineers Without Boarders Missouri team to get a look at the brand new beautiful potable rainwater system they just finished building.
The people in village of Prado on the lower Maranon river now have delicious clean water to drink.
Construction took three weeks.
Check out those six beautiful tanks!
What an amazing day!

Tomorrow is the inauguration, just in time for Peru's independence day celebrations July 28th.

What an awesome Amazon Promise medical outreach team!

400 people received medical and dental care, full lab work, PT consults, health education, and individual STI counseling/testing last week in remote communities of the lower Ucayali and Yarapa Rivers.

Thank you to all our volunteers, and of course the excellent AP Peru team.
So happy to be back in the field.

Back at my storage space packing medical supplies and a few other goodies for the July medical team that begins on the 12th.
We'll be providing medical and dental care, lab exams, general health and HIV education and counseling.

Engineers Without Borders Rice University student chapter members take measurements, height, and other information for future bridge construction for the community of Prado.
There will be four bridges to construct or make improvements on in the next two years.
These bridges will provide people access to the port town of Nauta and back. They will also serve the communities of Amazonas and San Francisco.

Thanks to our team for a successful clinic day in Betsaida where the new potable water system was recently installed!
General medical care, laboratory analysis, and clean water education for the entire community.
Each family also received a new 5 gallon water bucket with spigot.

Construction is moving forward on the potable water system for the remote community of Betsaida!
Holes dug for footings and concrete piers. Poured footings and concrete columns. Working on rebar cutting, and assembling gutters while concrete work cures for four days.
