RYA race coach and senior instructor Ellie Clark, MSc Sport and Exercise Physiology, performed metabolic testing with James Harayda, Gentoo Sailing Team Skipper, using COSMED K5 and Q-NRG.

Her research investigates physical exertion during the Transat CIC and New York Vendée - two of the most challenging transatlantic races on international calendar due to the weather, temperatures, and physical output.

By understanding the nuances of James' metabolism the team will prepare him for the next Vendée Globe on May 29th 2024, with regard to nutrition, training, and managing physical effort during the race.

COSMED is participating in the European Practicum for CPX international in Utrecht (NL).

During the educational symposium, the world leaders in Cardiolulmonary Exercise Testing are teaching more than 150 participants about the benefits, proper preparation, performance and interpretation of Cardiopulmonary Exercise testing.

This is a VO2 max test using a 25 watt/min ramp performed live in front of participants. After the test, data processing and interpretation was performed live.
