Healing takes a lot of suffering and sacrifice, and we have to go through several cycles until our problem becomes clear. It may also take a long time to come to terms with it, and in the meantime we have almost incomprehensible experiences. Yet we feel something moving inside us, even though we cannot make sense of what is really happening. And often the fear itself is so strong that we have difficulty connecting with the plants. To face things, even to recall forgotten memories, people, to accept, forgive and then let go, to say goodbye to who you were, to the patterns and habits you have identified with for many years, in order to change, grow, evolve. This is by no means an easy task. Plants force you to question your whole identity and all the ideas you have been fed since childhood, from the nature of consciousness to the values you have learned. The point behind all of this is really to be able to make a real distinction between your real self and your mind. Between your real identity and your ego that covers it.

To celebrate our wonderful dieteros and the closing of an intense period of work, our lovely Betty and the team prepared a traditional Amazonian fish dish, the Patarashca. Celebration can come in many ways, especially after hard moments, but celebrating through an explosion of tastes after so much soup and lentils is beyond delightful.

We are delighted to have closed a retreat full of deep nourishment, ancient wisdom, creativity and love. It was moving to experience a space filled with acceptance and humility, where healing and self-expression could flourish in its fullness. We will miss you greatly! ❤️

It's hard to put into words the transformative and magical experiences of the year 2023 but perhaps these pictures capture the quality of the moments. Our heart is full of gratitude, thank you for having been with us. Thank you all for your unshakeable trust, commitment and courage in showing up for yourselves and never giving up. Thank you for choosing us and our humble community for your healing sanctuary. May you all be blessed, loved and nurtured in the new year in good health and happiness. Any process aimed at gaining knowledge about ourselves and our world requires a time when we shut ourselves out of the world. When you are alone in the woods, without distractions, without stimuli from the outside world, your being begins to restructure itself. Your thoughts gradually change. Your mind enters a phase forbidden by everyday life: it becomes liberated. Inner stillness and peace grows in you. Little by little you begin to feel that the jungle is nothing but an extension of yourself. You are nothing but a tiny particle of an indescribable bliss, a bliss that embraces everything: rocks, water, the wind, raindrops, the constant, waking pulsation of nature. You realise that you are part of it all, and with this knowledge you can see that nothing happens by chance. You call the forest, and the forest replies.

Upper Amazonia is wild, romantic, lush, a raw, unique wonder of the cycle of life and death. Tarapoto and the area where we are located are nestled between the jungle-covered mountains of the Andes, in the immediate vicinity of the Cordillera Escalera National Park. The mountains, small rivers, waterfalls, fertile vegetation and the full night-time visibility of the Milky Way make this place unique. The mosquitoes, tarantulas, snakes, palm-sized cockroaches remind you that this is not yet paradise, but almost.
