The Neighborhood:
The Yanahuara district, the most beautiful and popular one in Arequipa, is located just 20 minutes from the airport. It is famous for its buildings made of sillar, a white volcanic rock, which adds to the charm of the area. The school is located on Calle Tacna, just a 15-minute walk from the city center, and provides stunning views of the city. There is a beautiful hike along the banks of the Chili river, which is just 5 minutes away in the direction of the Mirador de Carmen Alto.
The Yanahuara neighborhood is peaceful and provides a great opportunity to experience local life. The Yanahuara lookout, a popular tourist spot, is just a short walk from the school. Additionally, there are several traditional restaurants called "picanterias" around the school, where you can try local dishes. Some of the local delicacies include queso helado, sango, picarones, and buñuelos. There are also two popular drinks in the area called Energina and Kola Escosesa.
