Papua New Guinea Rural Women's Health Association (PNGRWHA) is a not-for-profit, CSO that exists to Prevent maternal mortality from preventable causes and promote good health and education for young Girls and Women in Rural communities in PNG.

PNGRWHA is now working to light up Birthing places and improve the pregnancy "waiting houses" system with Solar lights. Lighting systems are urgently needed in birthing places to prevent maternal and neonatal deaths from birthing-related causes that can be prevented. "We need partnership in our work".

Introducing a "Waiting House" for pregnant mothers to use in their last trimester is seen to be an innovation to save the lives of mothers and their newborn babies. This is great as mothers will be educated by health workers through integrated health promotion and education activities on preventing diseases and promoting health.
A usual traditional bush material house the mothers and families are very familiar to use.

PNG Rural mothers' health and their children make up the rural communities. Caring for the mothers means a lot for the countries.

Cultural barriers to improved health information and accessibility to existing health services, more mothers and girls are dying from preventable sicknesses in our rural communities in PNG. It is a real sad story for one to believe as PNG is a naturally rich nation in the Pacific. There is not enough trained health staff, health infrastructure is limited and poor, health systems are ineffective, and political leadership at all levels is corrupted.

So the population is suffering greatly and dying quietly as if it was in the early centuries. W are sorry, especially our female population.

Lets stand up somewhere to help stop the deaths, improve the health of our sisters and mothers. "Lives of our Rural Girls and Women Matter', they are humans like anyone in our nation, and the Globe. Otherwise, the UN SDG 2030 target is a dream, despite the Billions of funding to address teh isses.

Every girl and a woman in PNG needs to know their rights to "sexual health and their reproductive rights", to make informed choices in their sexual lives.
Training and advocacy are vital in rural communities in PNG to get the message across to the target population. This is important because of the high illiteracy rates among rural communities.

We conducted training and advocacy for the girls and women in a remote community on the border of WHP and Enga (Kalunga village in last Waniya) in November 2021 during the Covid-19 lockdown. 150 - 180 mothers and girls attended as well as men and boys. Very exciting and participatory training where everyone was interested in our advocacy and asked a lot of questions on the subject.
The picture shows the local women and girls, parts of the team missing on camera.

This is the normal day life of all mothers in Papua New Guinea in the rural villages. It is taken by all Papua New Guineans as normal, and is the work of mothers to do garden work, carry their babies, look for food for the family, collect firewood and do all that hard work. It is a normal day to day work for all rural village mothers. However, can we say that: THIS IS NOT RIGHT", please respect our mothers, sisters, and aunties. They have the "RIGHTS" to live as men and boys too.
