////^ 1. Sore Shin ^///////

As per my post yesterday I will be explaining a bit on the above mentioned.

After vigorously running or training and you feel pain on the lower distal part of the lower leg or the middle part of the lower leg along the tibia bone than you might be experiencing shin soreness.

What happens is after continuously running or training the surrounding muscles experiences micro-tear in their attachment site with the tibia bone and that leads to swelling and pain.

Which can lead to the two injuries

1. Shin splint

2. Tibia stress fracture

Therefore should you experience soreness at first you can do the following to help yourself.

A. Reduce your training or running program

B. Check your footwear and wear the right footwear

C. Apply heat before training or running and apply ice after

D. Wear shin or calf support

E. Apply shin taping when running or training

Should you still experience pain or discomfort seek a Physiotherapist help to help you manage this issue.

Thank you, and watch out for 2. Patella Pain tomorrow.

5. Pain on the outside of the knee

Rehabilitation of athletes in the Highlands is a struggle but with experience and clinical manual tests it's possible to diagnose, treat and manage sports injuries.

Sports medicine has come a long way and bringing Rehabilitation services back to the Highlands using what's available and improvising to bring results has been quite a journey.

Thankful to the Lord above for giving this challenge to showcase what physio can do for athletes in the Highlands. Not only is there help in POM. It is also here in the Highlands in terms of sports injuries and it's physio treatment and rehabilitation.

Find attached is a video of one my players who suffered a grade 1-2 strain of the Medial Crucuiate Ligament of his right knee.

He was under treatment and rehabilitation for 2weeks until he was cleared on 3rd week to return to join the core team for their training and return to play on the 3rd weekend.

Suffering from acute or chronic sports injuries and need help please DM and get the help you need for low cost this off season and prepare yourself for the pre - season and proper season training.
