Our team did a presentation yesterday on *Post Partum hemorrhage and its management*

Post Partum hemorrhage is one of the top 5 causes of Maternal mortality in PNG and other developing countries. It is defined as "Blood loss of more than 500mls in vaginal birth and more than 1000mls in C-section birth. It is regarded as Obstetric emergency and urgent medical intervention is required in order to adequately manage it.
PNG health Advocates is committed to continue its work in rural parts of Papua New Guinea, Especially, in the southern Highlands province.

||UPNG SHP Students give back to the province||

One of the co-founders of our NGO who was part of the UPNG SHP medical students CT Scan Fundraising Committee have the honor and privilege to present a cheque of K100,000 to the Southern Highlands Provincial Health Authority alongside other members of the CT scan committee include Dr. P**i Molumi ( CEO, PMGH), Dr. Samson Akivi, Mr. Elijah Sap, Mr. Newman Tipalien, Mr. Jonathan Kila and Mr. Melvin Tinol.
It was the vision of the UPNG Southern Highlands students in 2021 to have a CT scan for Mendi General Hospital. The vision came to reality when the former member for Mendi Munihiu Mr. Michael Nali purchased the machine and was put into operation by the current MP, Hon. Raphael Tonpi.
Southern Highlands Medical Students would like to acknowledge the following stakeholders for their support towards this vision:
