Mind, Body, and Future: RHU ABULUG Empowers Abulug Youth!

This past week, the RHU ABULUG successfully conducted an essential series of Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) lectures for Grades 9 & 10 students! We believe that true health is holistic, covering both the body and the mind.

We reached students at: Abulug National Rural and Vocational Highschool, Abulug School of Fisheries, and Libertad National Highschool (Nov 13-17).

What We Discussed:
1. Protecting the Future: In-depth talks on STI & HIV prevention and the current teenage pregnancy status of Abulug. Our focus remains on prevention to ensure a brighter future for all our youth!
2. Caring for the Mind: Highlighting Mental Health Awareness and the practical benefits of stress management. Remember: it's okay to feel low, and it's brave to seek help.

To all the students, teachers, and school administrators: Thank you for your active participation and for creating a safe, open environment for these crucial conversations. Education is our best defense!

Let's work together to empower our youth with knowledge, responsibility, and resilience!

RHU Abulug Bloodletting Success! A Late But Heartfelt Thank You!

We know this is a few weeks late, but the RHU Abulug is still buzzing with gratitude for the incredible success of our Bloodletting Activity held on October 28, 2025, at the Abulug Health Center!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Abulug community, we are thrilled to announce we had 112 successful blood donors! Your kindness has directly replenished our blood reserves and will save lives.

A massive thank you to our partner agencies for their crucial support and coordination.

But the biggest salute goes to our Blood Donors! You are the true heroes. Maraming Salamat po! 🙏

Dugo ng Abulugeños, para sa Abulugeños

RHU Abulug, in partnership with Cagayan Valley Regional Blood Center, invites everyone to partake in our blood letting activity this coming Tuesday-October 28, 2025, at the Abulug Health Center, Libertad. May mga freebies po tayo sa ating mga life-savers.

Donating blood offers profound benefits both to the individual donor and to the wider community. For the donor, the act can serve as a mini health check-up, as blood is screened for certain conditions, providing peace of mind, while also stimulating the production of new blood cells, which can contribute to overall cardiovascular wellness (parang change oil lang sa mga ugat mo ito, fren).

Indulge in the sense of purpose and fulfillment, knowing one has made a direct, lifesaving contribution (eto yung masasabi mong hero ka in your own little way, diba?).

For society, each donation becomes a critical resource for patients in emergencies, during surgeries, or for those managing chronic illnesses, ensuring that blood is available free of charge when it is most needed- for your friends, family members and your local community in general (sagip-buhay ang ultimate goal natin, beshy!).

Give blood if you
-are in good health
-age between 16 to 65 years old
-weigh at least 50 kg
-blood pressure: Systolic 90-160 mmHg; Diastolic 60-100 mmHg
-pass the physical and health history assessment

Note: Final eligibility decision is made by the medical staff after a confidential health screening

Before giving blood
-Have enough rest and sleep at least 6 hours
-No alcohol intake 24 hours prior
-No medications for at least 24 hours prior
-Eat prior to blood donation
-Avoid fatty/oily food
-Drink plenty of fluids

Layunin ng caravan na maagang matukoy, maagapan, at magamot ang TB. Sama-sama nating labanan ang TB! Huwag palampasin ang pagkakataong ito para sa mas malusog na kinabukasan.

🦟🧹 Dengue Surveillance at Clean-up Drive sa Bayan ng Abulug

Muling nagsagawa ng Dengue Surveillance at clean-up drive ang ilang barangay sa bayan ng Abulug matapos na maitala ang mga kaso ng dengue. Kabilang sa mga nagsagawa ng aktibidad ang Brgy. Guiddam, Lucban, Calog Sur, Libertad at Dana-ili, mga barangay na nakapagtala ng pinakamaraming kaso ng dengue.

Pinangunahan ang aktibidad ng RHU Abulug staff, katuwang ang Disease Surveillance Officer (DSO), Sanitation Inspector, mga Barangay Officials, at Barangay Health Workers at residente ng mga nasabing barangay.

👉 Hinihikayat ang iba pang barangay na magsagawa rin ng clean-up drive at isagawa ang 4S Strategy laban sa dengue:
1️⃣ Search and destroy ng mga posibleng pinamumugaran ng lamok
2️⃣ Self-protection measures (gamit ng kulambo, insect repellent, atbp.)
3️⃣ Seek early consultation kapag may sintomas ng dengue
4️⃣ Support fogging/spraying kung kinakailangan

⏰ Ugaliin din ang Dengue 4 o’clock Habit – sabayang paglilinis at pagsisiguro na walang stagnant water tuwing alas-4 ng hapon.

🤝 Sama-sama nating labanan ang dengue para sa isang ligtas at malusog na Abulug!

Ang pagpili ng family planning method para sa mga kababaihan ay mahalagang hakbang para sa kalusugan, pagpaplano ng pamilya, at pag-iwas sa hindi inaasahang pagbubuntis. Dapat ito ay naaayon sa pangangailangan, kalusugan, at personal na desisyon ng bawat babae, at dapat ay may gabay mula sa health professional.

Higit 9 milyong kababaihan na ang gumagamit ng family planning methods ayon sa datos ng DOH.

✅ Gaya nila, may karapatan ka ring pumili ng pinakamainam na family planning method na swak sa’yo!

🚨MGA IITLUGAN NG LAMOK, MAS MARAMI DAHIL SA ULAN; DOH 4T GAWING REGULAR KONTRA DENGUE🚨

Bahagyang tumaas ang kaso ng dengue sa unang dalawang linggo ng Hunyo. Mula 8,233 noong June 1-14, tumaas ito sa 10,733 pagdating ng June 15-28. Pinaghahandaan na ng DOH ang pagtaas sa kaso ng dengue dahil sa sunod sunod na pag-ulan at pagbaha nitong mga nakaraang linggo.

Paalala ng DOH na gawin ang 4Ts para walang pamahayan ang lamok dengue na aedes. Maging alerto matapos maipon ang ulan sa paligid at mga lalagyan kung saan nangingitlog ang lamok na ito.

Mahalagang mag ingat lalo na tuwing tag-ulan. Iwasang lumusong sa baha at agad na magpatingin sa Doktor o pumunta sa pinakamalapit na Health Center/Health station kapag may naramdamang sintomas.
