One of the most common question i get during prenatal check ups.
Is having too much ultrasound dangerous to my baby?
The answer is NO!
Repeated scans do not impose any harm to the mother and fetus.
As World Health Organization suggests, low risk pregnancies is advised of at least 1 ultrasound at, at least 13 weeks, at 11 to 13 weeks for nuchal translucency, at 18 to 22 weeks for congenital anomaly scan, and 1 during near term.
In between ultrasounds throughout the semester depends on you your health care provider.
We do not only check the gender, but we also check the placental placement, amnitoic fluid, Breathing and fetal tone.
So, feel free to have repeated scans to check on your baby. :) but at least 4 is advised.
