Mommy, gaano nga ba kadalas dapat magpasuso? Simple lang ang sagot: sa tuwing gusto ni baby, at hangga’t gusto niya!

👶 Karaniwang tumatagal ang pagpapasuso ng 20 minuto
📉 Habang lumalaki si baby, bumababa ang dalas at haba ng pagpapasuso

Tandaan: Ang madalas at tuloy-tuloy na pagpapasuso ay nakatutulong sa masaganang milk supply ng nanay.

▪️ Always wash your hands thoroughly
▪️ Avoid sharing glasses, utensils, or personal items
▪️ Regularly clean toys and your surroundings
▪️ Stay home and rest if you have symptoms

A little care goes a long way in preventing HFMD 🛡️👶🏻

‼️KASO NG HAND FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE, PITONG BESES NA MAS MATAAS NGAYONG TAON KUMPARA NOONG 2024‼️

Sa tala ng DOH as of August 9, 2025, pumalo na sa 37,368 ang kaso ng Hand, Foot and Mouth disease o HFMD – mas mataas ito ng higit pitong beses kumpara sa 5,081 na kaso sa kaparehong panahon noong 2024.

Kalahati sa mga naitalang kaso ay mga batang edad isa hanggang tatlong taong gulang.

Ang HFMD ay isang nakakahawang sakit na pwedeng makuha kung humawak sa mata, ilong, o bibig gamit ang kamay na nahawakan ang bagay na kontaminado ng virus.

Kabilang sa mga sintomas nito ang lagnat, singaw sa bibig, pananakit ng lalamunan, at mga butlig sa palad at talampakan.

Payo ng DOH, sakaling magkaroon ng mga sintomas ang isang bata ay panatilihin muna ito sa bahay nang pito hanggang sampung araw o hanggang sa panahong mawala ang lagnat at matuyo na ang mga sugat.

Mahalaga rin na ihiwalay ang mga kubyertos at iba pang personal na kagamitan ng taong maysakit na HFMD at linisin ang lugar kung saan sila nanatili gamit ang disinfectant.

“Doctors and all health care professionals play a vital role in our lives, and you should be acknowledging their hard work and dedication. You were treated and saved from near death to good health ready for discharge and you repay their kindness with public shaming!”

Statement on Public Shaming of Doctors!

The Philippine Medical Association condemns the recent viral post on social media publicly shaming a Surgeon Physician. Professional fees for doctors can vary based on several factors, including the complexity and type of service rendered and level of expertise of the physician handling the case. Each doctor has the right to determine the worth of his services rendered guided by a common relative value scale followed in the Philippines. Based on accounts on services rendered to the patient mentioned in the case the hospital charges and professional fees were within acceptable limits of ethical practice.

We therefore condemn the post to malign a physician who performed his duty well. He was singled out despite the fact that there were several medical specialists who handled this very complex case. Based on facts gathered the high professional fee in question was incorrect and was actually lower , the physicians even agreed to be paid with a guarantee letter! Considering the patient was treated with utmost compassion and concern by the several attending physicians for more than 20 days the social media post claiming “heartless treatment “ from the Physicians is unjust and uncalled for.

Let's focus on promoting a supportive and respectful environment for healthcare professionals. Doctors and all health care professionals play a vital role in our lives, and you should be acknowledging their hard work and dedication. You were treated and saved from near death to good health ready for discharge and you repay their kindness with Public shaming!

Bakit mahalaga ang exclusive breastfeeding sa unang 6 na buwan? 🤱🏻

Nakikiisa ang UST Hospital at ang Mother-Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative Committee sa Department of Health at World Health Organization sa pagsulong ng eksklusibong pagpapasuso ng mga ina sa mga sanggol simula sa kanilang kapanganakan hangang sa unang 6 na buwan.

Hinihikayat din ang patuloy na pagpapasuso mula sa 6 na buwan hangang 2 taon, pandagdag sa pagpapakain sa kanila.

Ano nga ba ang mga benepisyo nakukuha sa eksklusibong pagpapasuso ng mga sanggol?
