Members shared updates, raised challenges, and proposed solutions to improve health services and programs for our people. For many Alcantarahanons like Letecia, a simple check-up once meant traveling 8 to 10 kilometers to the nearest health center and spending an average of ₱500 for transportation and related costs. This was not just an expense—it was time away from work and daily responsibilities, making regular visits to a doctor less likely.

With Alcantara CARES, primary healthcare services are now within reach. The program not only provides essential medical care but also encourages better health-seeking behavior, allowing families to seek care early, attend regular check-ups, and take a proactive role in their well-being. The result: earlier diagnoses, timely treatments, and healthier, more resilient communities.

LIVE. The Department of Health Central Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH Central Visayas CHD), through the Communicable Diseases Section (CDS), spearheads the launching of the Philippine Strategic Tuberculosis (TB) Elimination Plan Phase 2:
2025-2030 (PhilSTEP2) on August 19, 2025, at Sarrosa International Hotel, Cebu City.

Building from PhilSTEP1: 2020-2023, PhilSTEP2 outlines updated strategies and multisectoral approaches needed to achieve TB elimination. Furthermore, it must be widely disseminated to ensure alignment, ownership, and coordinated action among national and local governments, development partners, civil society, private sector, and communities.

‼️Ayon sa pinakahuling datos ng Field Health Services Information System ng DOH (FHSIS, 2024), 656,115 na Pilipino ang may diabetes. Sa kabila nito, marami pa rin ang hindi nakakaalam na sila ay may ganitong kondisyon.

Alamin ang mga sintomas ng Diabetes. Ugaliin ang regular na konsultasyon para mabantayan ang kalusugan at para sa maagang gamutan.

Mas gipalig-on pa nato ang nutrisyon ug panglawas sa atong pinalanggang mga Alcantarahanon!

Sa tibuok buwan sa Hulyo, atong gisilibrar ang National Nutrition Month uban sa tema nga “Food and Nutrition Security, Maging Priority! Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin!” ug ang National Disaster Resilience Month nga gisaulog pinaagi sa Integrated Health Summit, aron mas masabtan kung unsaon pag-atubang sa mga isyu sa nutrisyon ug pag-andam sa katalagman. Kini usa ka lakang aron masukod ang kinatibuk-ang kaayohan sa atong panglawas.

Ang mga kalihokan sa Hulyo nahimong malampuson tungod sa suporta ug panagtinabangay sa nagkalain-laing buhatan sa Alcantara LGU. Dako usab ang among pasalamat sa tanang mitambong ug misalmot sa atong mga kalihokan. Magkita-kita napud ta sa umaabot nga mga aktibidad sa Alcantara!
