VIVA LA VIRGEN! HAPPY FIESTA!
Every July 2, we celebrate the feast of Our Lady of the Visitation of Piat and Guibang — the Queen and Patroness of Cagayan Valley and the Province of Isabela. In the quiet province of Isabela, where farming is a way of life, faith also grows strong because of the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Visitation of Guibang. This shrine is home to a miraculous image of the Virgin Mary, known for the many blessings and miracles she brings. People from Isabela and nearby provinces come to visit and show their deep love and devotion to her. In the northern part of the Philippines, in the province of Cagayan, the image of Our Lady of the Visitation of Piat is also widely honored. Locals call her different names such as “Mother of Us All” (Yena Tam Ngamin) in Ibanag and “Venerable Matriarch” (Apo Baket) in Ilocano, showing their deep respect and love for the Blessed Virgin Mary.
