Tungkol sa Gatas Bilang Pamalit sa Gamot sa Tuberculosis

Dahil sa kumakalat na maling impormasyon na ang pag-inom ng gatas ay nakagagamot sa tuberculosis (TB), nais linawin ng Philippine College of Physicians (P*P) at ng Philippine College of Chest Physicians (PCCP) Council on Tuberculosis na ang TB ay isang sakit na dulot ng bakterya na tinatawag na Mycobacterium tuberculosis at ito ay naipapasa sa hangin mula sa taong may sakit papunta sa ibang tao.

Ang aktibong TB ay nagagamot sa pamamagitan ng kombinasyon ng apat na klase ng gamot: isoniazid, rifampin, pyrazinamide, at ethambutol, na kailangang inumin ng pasyente sa loob ng anim na buwan. Ang pag-inom ng gatas ay makatutulong sa pagpapalakas ng buto, pero hindi ito kapalit ng tamang gamot o lunas sa TB.

Ang pagpapaliban o hindi pagtanggap ng tamang gamutan ay maaaring magdulot ng pagkalat ng sakit sa iba pang bahagi ng katawan, makahawa sa ibang tao, at sa matinding kaso, maaaring humantong sa kamatayan.

Here are some helpful tips for accurate Home Blood Pressure Monitoring:

1. Rest for 5 minutes before measuring.
2. Sit upright with feet flat on the floor and back supported.
3. Avoid caffeine, smoking, or exercise 30 minutes prior.
4. Place the cuff on bare skin (not over clothing).
5. Measure at the same time daily, ideally morning and evening.
6. Record your readings—track trends, not just single values.
7. Avoid talking or moving during measurement.

Consistent monitoring helps you and your doctor make informed decisions for a healthier heart!
