"Dialysis treatment is like a second chance at life for me."

Good day everyone! I am Randolph Duane Yu. To my family, childhood friends, and schoolmates they know me as Randy. I am a 44-year-old, father to two children and this is my story: I have been diagnosed with stage four Chronic Kidney Disease in the year 2020. As my illness progressed in 2023, I had to undergo Hemodialysis three times a week in which I had to go through drastic life changes. We were completely unprepared for the extent of the financial burden that would have a significant impact on every aspect of our lives. There are tests, diagnostics, laboratories, hemodialysis treatments, blood transfusions, medicines and many more that needed to be done. All of these required a substantial amount of money, which we currently have so little of. I am still currently working however my condition is not very stable, so I sometimes experience other complications along the way. I get through my dialysis treatment fees with the help of my family, also through Philhealth and other Government assistance to avail of their discounts on hemodialysis treatments.

I am determined to reclaim my life and recover, with the support and encouragement of my family, friends, and the people around me.
