Hooray, Ladies! It's Faith Day!🥳

As we celebrate the first day of our Girl Scout Week 2022, let us take this time to strengthen our faith. The Girl Scouts of the Philippines is inclusive to all religions and faith groups. We value the need to connect and nourish one's spirituality. May we always be reminded of the first phrase in our Girl Scout Promise.

To close this celebration, we want to end with this quote, "You’re not disabled by the disabilities you have, you are able by the abilities you have." 🤗

For persons with disabilities, we want to let you know that your disability does not dismiss the things that you can do. Also, we want you to know that we believe in your capabilities. 💖

Meanwhile, for all of us, instead of seeing a person with disabilities by their disability, look into their abilities. A person entitled to a disability does not mean that they are not capable of doing things. Also, do not forget to be polite to everyone we interact with; disability is not only physically visible.

There are times that suddenly, we will meet or see persons with disabilities in some places, especially in public places. Sometimes, we take certain behaviors to interact with them that we do not know it offends them. Haddayr Copley-Woods’ Do’s and Dont’s are here to prevent offenses; this will certainly educate us to avoid being rude.☺️

𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙖 🌯!

Thank you for taking part in today's celebration with us! But before ending this day, let us have a recap.

Today, we talked about the 𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐲 and the 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 that the Philippines is currently suffering. But wait, we just do not stop with learning; we must take action.

Even we are at home, we have various ways to be healthy and to combat our country's nutrition crisis.

3/3: 𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗣𝗟𝗘 𝗕𝗨𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗡𝗨𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

Yay, we are down to the third and last of the Triple Burden to Nutrition!

Like the other nutrition problem, our country fails to meet the 𝙤𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙮 objective of around 7.5% of adult (18 years of age or older) women and 5.2% of adult males living with obesity. The Philippines' obesity prevalence is lower than the regional average of 8.7% for women and 6.0% for men.

𝗛𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 is known as the micronutrient deficiency. Also, it includes a process wherein less visible and usually begins to show when the condition is severe and has already led to serious health burdens; This is where the “hidden hunger" derived its name.
