Mucocele

What it is: A mucocele is a harmless, fluid-filled cyst usually caused by a blocked or ruptured salivary gland.

Where it happens: Often on the inner lower lip, but can also appear on the cheek, tongue, or floor of the mouth.

Why it shows up: Usually from accidentally biting the lip or trauma (even mild), which damages the salivary duct.

a type of seborrheic keratosis—commonly seen in people with darker skin tones (especially of African or Asian descent). It appears as:

Small, dark brown to black papules (flat or slightly raised)

Commonly on the face, neck, chest, and upper back

Typically smooth or slightly rough.
