ATTENTION: Newborn Screening Facilities in Region 3 and CAR
Please take note of the schedule of operations of NSC-CL for the August 2025 Holidays.

Reminder: Send your samples right away after drying for a minimum of 4 hours even during holidays so we can receive and test them immediately once operations resume.

Please take note of these reminders when filling out information on the filter card:
✅Make sure that your hands are clean and dry before handling the filter card.
✅Avoid touching the absorbent area.
✅Write legibly in print and use BLACK or BLUE ballpoint pen only.
✅Avoid using pencil or Frixion pen as it may be difficult to read and may be erased.
✅Fill out the filter paper with the correct information, using a BALLPOINT PEN.
✅Do NOT use sign pens/ gel pens.
✅Fill out all items legibly and completely. Use BLOCK LETTERS and leave a space (_) between each word.
✅Avoid erasures as much as possible. In case of minor erasures, the NBS coordinator may sign his/her initials above the corrected information. However, for two or more erasures, he/she may already attach a letter of verification along with the filter card.
✅In placing check (√) marks, please make sure that it is legible and visible enough.
✅Check completeness and correctness of all required fields before sending the filter card.

The Newborn Screening Center - Central Luzon successfully conducted a two-batch seminar on newborn screening for over 300 incoming Level 2 and Level 3 nursing students at Angeles University Foundation - College of Nursing on July 30 and 31, 2025. This initiative aims to strengthen the promotional efforts of newborn screening by educating future healthcare professionals about its importance and the program’s impact. Proudly marking AUF as the third university partner of NSC-CL in advancing newborn screening advocacy and awareness in the academe. Together, we empower the next generation of nurses to safeguard newborn health from the start!
