Dr. Care Animal Bite Center – Mambugan, Antipolo

Heads up! We would like to inform our valued patients of our clinic schedule for the upcoming holiday:

🩺 OPEN:
October 31, 2025 (Friday) – Regular Clinic Hours

🚫 CLOSED:
November 1, 2025 (Saturday) – All Saints’ Day
November 2, 2025 (Sunday) – All Souls’ Day

Regular clinic operations will resume on November 3, 2025 (Monday).

Understanding your Anti-Rabies Vaccine

There are two DOH-approved and WHO-recommended generic types of anti-rabies vaccines:
- PVRV (Purified Verocell Rabies Vaccine)
- PCEC (Purified Chick Embryo Cell Vaccine)

Ang mga ito ay generic na uri ng bakuna at hindi partikular na brand.

Ibig sabihin, maaaring iba-iba ang gumagawa o manufacturer, ngunit lahat ay dapat sumunod sa mahigpit na pamantayan ng DOH at WHO sa kaligtasan at kalidad.

Examples of brands:
• For PCEC type – ChiroRab, VaxiRab
• For PVRV type – Verorab, Abhayrab, Speeda

Animal Bite Treatment Centers (ABTCs) follow the generic type of vaccine (PVRV or PCEC), not the brand.

There is no difference in effect or protection as long as the vaccine is DOH-approved, properly stored (2°C–8°C), and given by a Licensed professional with Training Course on Rabies and Animal Bite Management.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has received and verified reports regarding the circulation and administration of counterfeit rabies vaccines in various health facilities, establishments, and unauthorized distribution channels. The use of these fake vaccines poses a serious risk to public health as they fail to provide protection against rabies, thereby increasing the risk of spreading the virus and potentially resulting in adverse effects or fatalities.

Ang Rabies ay 100% Maiiwasan, Ngunit Nakamamatay Kapag Hindi Naagapan.

Maiiwasan: Magpabakuna sa mga alagang hayop at iwasan ang kagat o dila ng hayop na posibleng may rabies.

Nakamamatay: Kapag lumitaw na ang sintomas, halos 100% itong nakamamatay.

Agapan: Magpatingin agad at magpagamot (PEP) pagkatapos ma-expose upang maiwasan ang sakit.
