Towards ZOD Barangay 💗

To achieve the goal of becoming a Zero Open Defecation Barangay, a coordination meeting was held with partners from the Municipal Health Office headed by Dr. Peach Legaspi, Sangguniang Bayan Members SB Thelma Calcana Solano-SB for Health and SB Bimbo Desullan- SB in-charge of Brgy. Union, DOH-NDP Sir Arjay Ayson, Union BHS headed by Midwife assigned Elie Cabayao and the Barangay Council led by Brgy. Capt. Francisco Matinong.

The discussion focused on how to ensure that all residents of Barangay Union have access to proper toilets or comfort rooms, so that no one in the community resorts to open defecation — a practice that can lead to the spread of water-borne diseases.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of strong community collaboration, shared responsibility, and active participation from all sectors to address this public health concern. By working together, the community aims to promote a cleaner, healthier, and safer environment for everyone.
