Putting the flag in display when her name pops up not enough?

After her historic win at the Abierto Zapopan, a well-known journalist in the Philippines, Maria Ressa, posted a piece criticising Eala for not mentioning her country in her trophy speech, accusing her of “forgetting her roots” and focusing only on her personal career. Eala was forced to host a livestream to explain why… she broke down in tears with words that made everyone feel heartbroken, and Maria Ressa had to publicly apologise immediately. The online community became even more divided: some sympathised with her, while others thought she was deliberately “performing” to win public favour.
