𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬. ❤️

Last April 7, 2026, the Philippine Red Cross Negros Occidental–Bacolod City Chapter, through its Disaster Management Services, conducted a Multipurpose Cash Grant Distribution in the Municipality of Moises Padilla for families affected by Typhoon Tino.

In partnership with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and under the leadership of Chairman Richard J. Gordon and Secretary General Gwendolyn Pang, this initiative was carried out in close coordination with the Local Government Unit of Moises Padilla headed by Honorable Mayor Ella Celestina Garcia-Yulo, together with Vice Mayor Felix Mathias Segundo “Pimpoy” Yulo III, the members of the City Council, and Barangay officials.

A total of 627 families supported:
• Brgy. 1 – 136 families
• Brgy. 4 – 135 families
• Crossing Magallon – 237families
• Magallon Cadre – 120 families

Through cultural, creative, and civic activities, the initiative aims to empower young Negrosanon as stewards of heritage and drivers of community development in Negros Occidental.

The initiative is powered by the Negrosanon Young Leaders Institute Inc. (NYLI) in partnership with the Negros Occidental Provincial Government.

The Philippine Red Cross Negros Occidental–Bacolod City Chapter, through its Health Service, successfully conducted a Health Consultation and Mama & Baby Kit Distribution for Typhoon Tino-affected communities.

We reached communities from Brgy. 1 to Brgy. 7 of Municipality of Moises Padilla "Birada Moises Padilla”, providing essential health services and support to those in need.

👩‍⚕️ Services Rendered:
✔️ 89 individuals received health consultations
✔️ 115 individuals benefited from health promotion and education
✔️ 26 Mama & Baby Kits distributed to support mothers and infants

👥 Total Clients Served: 115
• Female: 100
• Male: 15

This activity was made possible through the dedication of our volunteer doctors, nurses, staff, and volunteers, in collaboration with CPSU Moises Padilla and the Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) of the 7 barangays.

Together, we continue to bring hope, health, and humanity to communities affected by disasters. ❤️

The Philippine Red Cross Negros Occidental–Bacolod City Chapter, through our Disaster Management Services, successfully implemented a Multipurpose Cash Grant for families affected by Typhoon Tino in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.

This initiative was made possible in partnership with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), under the leadership of Chairman Richard J. Gordon and Secretary General Gwendolyn Pang. Also, Our Chapter Administrator Rita Benita P. Mirasol, Chairman of the Board Carlos Ganihong and the rest of the Board of Directors, in close coordination with the Local Government Unit of La Carlota City headed by Honorable Mayor Jose Jalandoni, and with the support of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).

A total of 457 families supported:
• Brgy. Cubay – 221 families
• Brgy. La Granja – 236 families

Ngayong , alalahanin natin ang dinanas na hirap at pasakit ng mga sundalo noong World War II.

Sa araw na ito noong 1942, halos 76,000 prisoners of war (PoW) ang sapilitang pinagmartsa mula Bataan hanggang Capas, Tarlac. Libu-libo ang namatay dahil sa pagkagutom, pagka-uhaw, at pagkakasakit; higit pa, marami rin ang binugbog at pinatay.

Pinapaalala ng trahedyang ito ang kahalagahan ng pagrespeto sa international humanitarian law (IHL) o batas ng giyera. Ayon sa Third Geneva Convention, na sinang-ayunan ng lahat ng estado:
✅ dapat bigyan ng makataong pagtrato ang mga PoW: dapat respetuhin ang kanilang karangalan, at proteksiyunan mula sa anumang uri ng karahasan
✅ karapatan ng PoW na magkaroon ng sapat na panunuluyan, pagkain, pananamit, at alagang medikal; at
✅ dapat payagan ang ICRC na mapuntahan ang lahat ng lugar na may PoW, makausap sila nang walang saksi, at subaybayan ang kondisyon ng kanilang pangungulungan.

Sa pagpapanatili ng dignidad sa gitna at maging sa pagtapos ng digmaan, mas mabibigyan natin ng kahulugan ang kagitingan ng mga taong nag-alay ng kanilang buhay.
