ed to provide quality life-saving services that protect the life and dignity especially of indigent Filipinos in vulnerable situations. It is the tale of hundreds of thousands of ordinary people who devoted their time and resources to help the poorest of the poor. Professionally trained and truly compassionate, these men and women are ready to lend a helping hand to those in need – whoever, whenever and wherever they may be. In all its 67 years of reputable existence, the Philippine Red Cross has lived through many changes that were intended to help more people. Where it used to be involved only in providing blood and in disaster-related activities, the Philippine Red Cross now focuses on a holistic approach to uplift the condition of the most vulnerable. Where it used to offer short-term palliatives, it now offers a wider array of humanitarian services ranging from preventive medicine to therapeutic counseling, to youth leadership. At present, the Philippine Red Cross provides six major services: Blood Services, Disaster Management Services, Safety Services, Health Services, Social Services, Red Cross Youth and Volunteer Services. All of them embody the fundamental principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement – humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality. These values guide and inspire all Red Cross staff and volunteers, to whom being a Red Crosser is more than just a philosophy but a way of life. Join the Red Cross. We take pride in urging all Filipinos to take part in the heroism of the Philippine Red Cross by becoming a full-pledged member, volunteer, or donor. For more information, please call our hotline 143 or 527-0000, 09425533622 and 09392612576 or browse through our website.

🫀 CPR Caravan | Hands-Only CPR

Last August 1, the Philippine Red Cross Negros Occidental–Bacolod City Chapter, through our Safety Service and dedicated Red Cross Youth, conducted a Hands-Only CPR lecture and demonstration at St. Joseph School – La Salle—the first school in Bacolod to host this lifesaving activity.

Over 500 students were trained and empowered with CPR knowledge and skills, proving that even young people can make a difference in times of emergency. Hands-Only CPR focuses on chest compressions—simple, effective, and proven to save lives.

Thank you, St. Joseph School – La Salle, for being the first to open your doors to this initiative and helping build a CPR-ready campus.

📍Do you want the CPR Caravan in your school? Message us now and let’s work together to empower more youth and save more lives! ❤️
