Safety Services ( FOR TRAINING SCHEDULE) - 09685008340 Born officially in 1947, but with roots that traces back to the revolutionary days, the Philippine Red Cross has truly become the premier humanitarian organization in the country, committed to provide quality life-saving services that protect the life and dignity especially of indigent Filipinos in vulnerable situations. It is the tale of hundreds of thousands of ordinary people who devoted their time and resources to help the poorest of the poor. Professionally trained and truly compassionate, these men and women are ready to lend a helping hand to those in need โ€“ whoever, whenever and wherever they may be. In all its 67 years of reputable existence, the Philippine Red Cross has lived through many changes that were intended to help more people. Where it used to be involved only in providing blood and in disaster-related activities, the Philippine Red Cross now focuses on a holistic approach to uplift the condition of the most vulnerable. Where it used to offer short-term palliatives, it now offers a wider array of humanitarian services ranging from preventive medicine to therapeutic counseling, to youth leadership. At present, the Philippine Red Cross provides six major services: Blood Services, Disaster Management Services, Safety Services, Health Services, Social Services, Red Cross Youth and Volunteer Services. All of them embody the fundamental principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement โ€“ humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality. These values guide and inspire all Red Cross staff and volunteers, to whom being a Red Crosser is more than just a philosophy but a way of life. Join the Red Cross. We take pride in urging all Filipinos to take part in the heroism of the Philippine Red Cross by becoming a full-pledged member, volunteer, or donor. ๐Ÿ“World AIDS Day 2025.

Yesterday, our Red Cross Youth Negros Occidental volunteers from various councils united in commemorating World AIDS Day 2025 through information dissemination, human ribbon formation, and flyer distribution.

This yearโ€™s theme, โ€œOvercoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response,โ€ emphasizes the need for stronger awareness, early testing, and a more compassionate and stigma-free community for people living with HIV. Through their efforts, our youth volunteers continue to inspire action and strengthen community resilience.

Padayon, RCY Negrosanonโ€”always ready to serve. โค๏ธ

๐Ÿ“HIV & AIDS: Awareness and Care ๐Ÿฉบ

The Philippine Red Cross Negros Occidentalโ€“Bacolod City Chapter reminds everyone that while there is no cure for HIV and AIDS, antiretroviral therapy (ART) can slow the virus, protect the immune system, and delay progression to AIDS.

Early testing, proper treatment, and continuous medical care help people living with HIV lead longer, healthier lives.

Letโ€™s also fight stigma and provide support to those affected. Together, we can build a community of compassion, understanding, and health. โค๏ธ

Today, our Red Cross Youth Negros Occidental joins the global call to action with this yearโ€™s theme: โ€œ๐—ข๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐——๐—ถ๐˜€๐—ฟ๐˜‚๐—ฝ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป, ๐—ง๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—บ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—”๐—œ๐——๐—ฆ ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ฒ."

To strengthen awareness, we held an HIV and AIDS Talk led by our 14th C*C President, Joan Keithlyn Guerrero, who shared essential knowledge on HIV transmission, prevention, and the importance of early testing. Her message encourages the youth to stay informed, compassionate, and proactive in breaking stigma.

This day reminds us that education and empathy play a vital role in transforming our communityโ€™s response to HIV and AIDS.

Together, we rise. Together, we transform.

๐Ÿ” KNOW THE FACST: HIV and AIDS

Today, we raise our voices to fight stigma and spread life-saving facts about HIV.

You CANNOT get HIV from:
๐Ÿ“ŒHugging
๐Ÿ“Œkissing
๐Ÿ“Œsharing food
๐Ÿ“Œsweat
๐Ÿ“Œtears
๐Ÿ“Œtoilet seats
๐Ÿ“Œmosquitoes
๐Ÿ“Œholding hands
๐Ÿ“Œcoughing.

Letโ€™s end the mythsโ€”misinformation hurts more than HIV.

๐Ÿ”ด HIV is only transmitted through:
โ€ข Unprotected sexual contact
โ€ข Exposure to infected blood (needles, sharps, transfusion)
โ€ข Mother-to-child transmission

Knowledge empowers. Testing saves lives. Compassion changes communities.

Together, we can build a future that is informed, stigma-free, and united. โค๏ธโœจ
