Face Shield, Face Mask, N95 Mask, or PAPR?
Wait... What is PAPR?
Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) is the gold standard against COVID19 transmission. Here are some of the advantages:
π· Higher protective factor than N95 respirators
π· Provides eye protection (hooded models only)
π· More comfortable to wear than N95 respirator
π· Can be used if the user has facial hair (not possible with N95 respirator)
π· Hooded models do not require fit-testing (unlike N95 respirator)
π· Eliminates unexpected poor N95 respirator fit
π· Less likely to be dislodged when managing an agitated patient
π· PAPRs with a hood may provide additional protection against contamination compared with typical gear worn with N95 mask
In fact, the joint recommendation of American Society of Anesthesiologists, Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation, American Academy of Anesthesiologist Assistants, and American Association of Nurse Anesthetists is to use PAPRs in operating rooms.
Despite these advantages, PAPRs typically cost Php30,000, and 3M PAPRs cost as much as P80,000β¦
Thatβs a lot to ask, isnβt it? The good news is that we are launching AEGIS, a cost-effective medical-grade PAPR, to help our frontliners out there. The price? Not even half of the typical cost. Yes, we are at a pre-order (2 weeks lead time) price of Php 12,000 excluding shipping fees. Please drop us a message and we will be happy to assist you.
