⚠️ PUBLIC HEALTH ADVISORY: LEPTOSPIROSIS ALERT ⚠️
Bacolod City experienced significant flooding due to the recent typhoon. Please stay vigilant.

Leptospirosis can spread when floodwater contaminated with animal urine enters the body through wounds, scratches, or even intact skin after prolonged exposure.

🚨 Watch Out for These Symptoms (usually appear within 2–14 days):
• Fever or chills
• Headache
• Muscle pain (notably calves and lower back)
• Red eyes
• Nausea or vomiting
• Dark-colored urine or decreased urination
• Yellowing of eyes/skin (severe cases)

Seek medical care IMMEDIATELY if any of these signs appear—early treatment saves lives.

🛑 After Flood Exposure: What To Do
• If you waded in floodwater:
• Wash legs and body thoroughly with soap and clean water.
• Consult a doctor for prophylaxis—especially if you had cuts, wounds, or prolonged exposure.
• Avoid swimming or playing in floodwater, especially for children.
• Wear boots if you need to walk through water.
• Keep surroundings clean to reduce rodents.
