Unravelling the Mystery!๐Ÿ’ก

HIDDEN IN THE DUCTS: Pediatric Choledochal Cyst presenting with Acute Pancreatitis in a 3-Year Old Child
presented by Dr. Justine Arla Gustilo, MD 2nd Year Pediatric Resident during the Friday Conference at the Multi-Purpose Hall, 7F COE Building, March 6, 2026.

In this case, an abnormal connection popped upโ€ฆ but thankfully, it was the kind we can always fix. Big shoutout to the brilliant team of doctors whose skilled hands made this case a success: Pediatric Gastroenterologist - Dr. Josephine Tan, Pediatric Surgeon - Dr. Adhara Manlapao, Pediatric Anesthesiologist - Dr. Mona Prudente, Dr. Irene Benares - previous AP, Pediatric Radiologist - Dr. Joanna Go, and Pathologist - Dr. David Pedroza.
๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’ก

This wouldnโ€™t be possible without the mentors who also gave their valuable time in helping the presenter - Dr. Judah G***r and Dr. Alvin Agustin.

We were also graced by the presence of Dr. John Alejano, Dr. Jose Pepito Malapitan, Dr. Diana Nandwani, Dr. Ma. Antonia Gensoli, Dr. Carmencita Sarrosa and Dr. Marxwin Diente.

๐Ÿฆ‡ Nipah Virus Awareness

Nipah virus is a rare but serious infection that can spread from animals to humans and through close contact. Prevention through good hygiene, safe food handling, and awareness is key to protecting our children and communities.

๐Ÿชฑ National Deworming Month | January ๐Ÿชฑ

Riverside Medical Center โ€“ Department of Pediatrics fully supports the call to end preventable worm infections among children. This remains a public health priority that requires early action and strong community participation.

We stand with the Philippine Pediatric Society in promoting WASH + D as a simple yet effective approach:
๐Ÿ’ง Safe and clean Water
๐Ÿšฝ Improved Sanitation and Zero Open Defecation
๐Ÿงผ Proper Hygiene to prevent reinfection
๐Ÿ’Š Regular Deworming for children and communities

When these efforts come together, we protect childrenโ€™s health, support proper growth and nutrition, and help them thrive in school and in life.

Together, let us build healthier communities โ€” one child at a time. ๐Ÿ’™
