The Emergency Department (ED) of Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital conducted a Community Outreach Program on STOP THE BLEED and RABIES AWARENESS at Brgy. Alangilan, Bacolod City, last March 14, 2024, in collaboration with Bacolod City Explosive and Ordnance Division and Canine Unit.
This outreach aims to share knowledge, understanding and equipping the community in the initial management of bleeding and animal bites.
This community outreach was spearheaded by Dr. Feriza L. Mirasol Emergency Medicine Chairman with Dr. Mirasol are Ms. Jenny Lyn D. Jinson ED Nurse Manager, Mr. Arnol Magbanua ED Nurse Supervisor and PLT Alberto S. Sardua Jr., Team Leader of Explosive and Ordnance Division and Canine Unit of Bacolod City. Together with them are the ever supportive doctors and nurses of the Emergency Department.
The department would like to extend our heart felt thanks for the cooperation of Hon. Barangay Captain Roy Retiza of Alangilan, PMSg Joey Berja, PSSg Robert Constantino. We would also like to thank the Public Health Unit (PHU) for their continued support to our programs and projects.
Participants of the activity were the Brgy. Health Workers, Brgy. Nutrition Scholars, Brgy. Public Safety Officers, Emergency Transport Staff and residents of Brgy. Alangilan. Also, included in the participants were the Nursing Students and Clinical Instructors of the College of Nursing, Colegio San Agustin Bacolod. Upon completion of the training, participants were awarded with certificates of completion from the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma.
