HEALING WITHIN THE WALLS

Better Days Ahead Recovery Center-Bacolod City represented by its Center Director and Head of Facility Pedro Jose Bernardo Regalado together with house parent and facilitator Kristofer Pigar visited the BJMP Victorias City Jail in its plight to spread awareness through drug addiction symposiums highlighting the importance of providing support and resources for individuals struggling with addiction in a correctional setting.

City Councilor Dino Acuna who is as well as the Vice President and Board of Director of Better Days Ahead Recovery Center was also present and gave a testimony on how he has risen above the pits of drug addiction and got his life back through God, his Higher Power.

The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos' College of Arts and Sciences-
Department of Psychology invited and recognized Better Days Ahead Recovery Center-Bacolod City during its culmination day held at the university last June 3, 2025.

For many years, UNO-R Psychology Department sends their students to an internship program and BDA's mentoring and guidance on this undertaking has consistently produced good works. Students tend to see, observe and know the meaning of Recovery in its truest sense.

BDA was represented by its Center Director and Head of Facility Pedro Jose Bernardo Regalado.

SECRETIVE BEHAVIOR

If a person is into drug use, these can be the signs that indeed he does:

*withdraws from friends and family and constantly looks for a private place to use drugs.

*ignores responsibilities; becoming addicted to drugs or alcohol can make a person avoid their daily responsibilities such as work, school, relationships.

*social fall out: avoiding social occasions or skipping recreational activities.

*having intense urges for the drug that block out any other thoughts.

And during crashing, it marks a low point in their lives that they’d rather hide. By its nature, addiction is very isolating.
