Health is often taken for granted—until urgency reminds us of its value. In Barangay Estefania, Emelda Tribo stands among the silent heroes who work tirelessly to safeguard the well-being of every resident. For her, the true measure of service is not defined by years rendered, but by the lives touched and protected.

Beyond these efforts, her presence brings comfort, guidance, and compassion—a reminder that public service, at its core, is about people.

💬 Her story reflects the power of unity—where informed communities become healthier, stronger, and more resilient.

In Purok Sto. Niño, Barangay Pahanocoy, access to formal healthcare was once limited, with many residents relying on traditional healers, herbal remedies, and home birthing practices. Change began when Rona Lazarito, a BS Nursing graduate who had worked abroad, chose to return home and serve as a Barangay Health Worker.

With dedication and persistence, 𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀—𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀, 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.

Her efforts gradually reshaped long-standing practices. Today, more women attend prenatal check-ups, families actively consult healthcare professionals, and improvements in sanitation and water safety have been realized.

Most notably, the community now reports zero home birthing cases and a significant decline in tuberculosis incidence—a testament to the power of informed care and consistent community engagement.

💬 Her story reflects the power of unity—where informed communities become healthier, stronger, and more resilient.
