We are pleased to share the success of our ongoing "PuroKalusugan" and health assessment among our school learners. From September 18-19, 2025, the Rural Health Unit of Bacolod, Lanao del Norte under the leadership of Dr. Teresa M. Reponte conducted a comprehensive health assessment for all students at Liangan East National High School.
Our dedicated team of health professionals provided a full range of essential services. These included general health checkups, oral examinations with fluoride varnishing, and crucial eye exams using the Snellen charts.
A key component of the assessment was student profiling, where we measured each student's height and weight to calculate their Body Mass Index (BMI), a vital step in assessing their nutritional status and overall health. Beyond the physical checkups, we also delivered engaging and informative lectures in every classroom, focusing on the importance of proper nutrition and hygiene and also HYO among adolescent learners.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the administration, teachers, and staff of Liangan East National High School for their full support, which was instrumental in making this two-day event a resounding success.

September 18, 2025- we held a successful 2nd Expanded Local Health Board Meeting, a productive joint session with the Municipal Blood Council, Municipal AIDS Council, and Local Drinking Water Quality Monitoring Committee.
Our comprehensive agenda included:
• Proposed LHB Resolutions
• Digitalization of BHS Medical Records and budget approval for IT equipment
• Disease Surveillance and a partial report on School's Health Assessment
• Rehabilitation of Babalaya BHS and budget approval
• G2 Updates
• Purokalusugan Update for Poblacion, Esperanza, and Babalayan Townsite
• An update on the Laboratory and X-ray Building
• Physical Therapy Accomplishment report
• Updates from the Local BLOOD Council, Local AIDS Council, and Local Drinking Water Quality Monitoring Committee
• Resolution No. 05-2025 on BHWs, RACC, and BHW updates
• LIPH and AOP 2026-2028 Approval

From September 15-17, 2025, the Rural Health Unit of Bacolod, Lanao del Norte, led by Dr. Teresa Reponte, successfully conducted a comprehensive health assessment and "PuroKalusugan" initiative for all students at Bacolod Central Integrated School.
Our team provided a range of essential services, including general health checkups, oral examinations, and fluoride varnishing. We also conducted eye exams using both the Lea's and Snellen charts to assess vision. In addition, we performed student profiling, which included taking their height, weight, and calculating their Body Mass Index (BMI) to assess their nutritional status. We also held the "Healthy Young Ones" lecture plus nutrition and hygiene in every classroom to educate students on important health topics.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the dedicated teaching force of BCIS, headed by Principal Elver Gonesto, for their invaluable support and cooperation in making this event a success.

The Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Bacolod, Lanao del Norte, under the leadership of Dr. Teresa M. Reponte, in collaboration with the Provincial Health Office (PHO) of Lanao del Norte, led by Dr. Cristy Indoc and the Environmental and Occupational Health (EOH) team headed by Dr. Karl Garcia, successfully concluded a four-day Malaria and Filariasis Border Operations at Barangay Poblacion, Bacolod.

This operation underscored the paramount importance of public health initiatives in combating vector-borne diseases. The activities included nocturnal blood smearing of residents for early detection, distribution of treated mosquito nets, and integrated vector control measures such as misting and the strategic deployment of carabao bait traps. These comprehensive efforts are vital for interrupting the transmission cycle and protecting community well-being.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our valued partners for their support:

* The Local Government Unit of Bacolod, headed by Municipal Mayor Hon. Judith V. Miquiabas.
* The Barangay Council of Poblacion, led by Hon. Sonia Baranachea.
* A special commendation to the Kagawad on Health, Hon. Dave Prones.
* The Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs) and all RHU personnel who demonstrated dedication through their late-night commitment.

The Rural Health Unit of Bacolod, Lanao del Norte, led by Dr. Teresa Reponte, recently conducted a successful Health Assessment and Purok Kalusugan Profiling program at Liangan East Elementary School. Our mission was to not only provide immediate health services but also to gather vital data to better understand and address the health needs of the community.
During the event, we performed:
* General health check-ups
* Eye vision screening
* Dental screening and fluoride application
We also held the Healthy Young Ones program, where we gave lectures on proper hygiene and nutrition. Thank you to the school and community for your cooperation in this significant effort to build a healthier future together.

The Bacolod Rural Health Unit and PHO Lanao del Norte are bringing a major Malaria & Filaria Border Operations to our community. This event is exclusively for residents of Barangay Poblacion, as we work together to protect our neighborhood.

When: September 1-4, 2025
Where:
* Purok 4 Covered Court
* Purok 3 Covered Court (Basketball court near the municipal hall)

Join us for these activities:

* 4 PM - 6 PM & 5 AM - 7 AM: Misting to control mosquitos.
* 7 PM - 10 PM: Purok Kalusugan profiling and health education.
* 10 PM - 2 AM: Blood Collection. We test at night because it's when the parasites are released from your red blood cells and are easier to detect!
