Why is it important to get your child’s eyes checked?

Early Detection of Vision Problems
Children may not realize they have a vision problem because they assume everyone sees the way they do. Early eye exams can catch issues like:

Nearsightedness (myopia)
Farsightedness (hyperopia)
Astigmatism
Lazy eye (amblyopia)
Crossed eyes (strabismus)
Catching these early can prevent long-term vision problems.

Come visit us today at ATAS Eye Care & Optical Clinic located at the back of plazamart (beside palawan pawnshop), hotel seabreeze, san juan st, Bacolod City.

Applying for a PWD Card?
Here are some things to know about Visual Disability:

1. A person must have their vision examined by a licensed eyecare practitioner. They must have a Visual Acuity of 20/70 or Lower(bigger letters) on both eyes. A Snellen chart, or a similar kind of chart must be used.

2. PROVIDED, the 20/70 or lower Visual Acuity should be after wearing the latest eyeglasses or Contact Lens correction.

3. PROVIDED FURTHER, aside from Eyeglass and Contact Lens Correction, all possible medical and surgical intervention should’ve been done by an Ophthalmologist, or a physician trained in Eye Diseases.

4. Along or aside from the Visual Acuity, a severe reduction of Visual Field can also be a factor of being Visually Disabled.

Your eyeglass or contact lens prescription, no matter how low or high, is not the basis of being visually disabled.

For example, a person may have a -15.00 eye prescription on both eyes, but still be able to read 20/20.

While another person may have Zero eye prescription, but may see 20/70 because of an end stage eye disease.

Let us give chance to people who deserve the PWD ID most.
