This week marks two years since I began my journey in Buffalo, NY pursuing a PhD in Cancer Sciences degree.
I am thankful and thrilled to share that I’ve also reached an important milestone in my PhD journey: passing the preliminary exam/dissertation proposal oral defense.
Deeply grateful to my mentor and dissertation committee for their unwavering support!
My research will focus on understanding the distinct responses of patients with cancer from minoritized racial and ethnic groups to immune checkpoint inhibitors, an exciting form of immunotherapy that has transformed and continues to revolutionize cancer treatment. Excited for what’s to come!
