ATTENTION :
I am posting to address a serious misunderstanding that has arisen from a recent post on a colon cancer Facebook group. A quotation for a colonoscopy procedure, which included my name, was shared without my consent. As an unfortunate consequence, I was being accused of overcharging patients.
I want to clarify the following:
* Quotation: The quotation was generated by the hospital for the purpose of applying for a guarantee letter from a politician to cover the patient's medical expenses. It is a hospital practice to overestimate the total cost on these documents to account for potential additional procedures or tests.
* Professional Fees: The quotation includes fees for both the gastroenterologist and the anesthesiologist, which is not always transparent to patients.
* Patient Confidentiality: I am deeply concerned about the unauthorized sharing of patient information and the negative impact it has had on my professional reputation.
I am committed to providing quality care to my patients and adhere to the highest ethical standards. I will not disgrace our God, my family, my mentors and my colleagues by being greedy.
