LIDOCAINE TOXICITY can lead to hypotension or bradycardia up to cardiac and respiratory arrest.

Lidocaine recommended dose is 4.5mg/kg, 10 years old weight average 26kg, (common Lidocaine available in our country is 2% lidocaine which containes 20mg/1ml).

26kg x 4.5mg = 117mg ÷ 20 = 5.85cc.

Maximum dose of lidocaine should have been 5.85cc only, not 20cc! Which was administered by a fake doctor.

That is why, we doctor's are cautious in administering lidocaine even in our field of Dermatology in minor surgery or just topical anesthesia.
