👩‍⚕️What Parents Should Watch Out for When a Child has Influenza 👶

Even though your child has been diagnosed with influenza and started on medication, it’s important to keep monitoring them at home. Most children recover well, but please watch for these warning signs:

⚠️ Red flags to return to the doctor or hospital:

❗Persistent high fever 🌡️ lasting more than 3–4 days

❗Breathing difficulties 😮‍💨 (fast breathing, chest pulling in, wheezing, or noisy breathing)

❗Extreme sleepiness, confusion, or seizures 😴⚡

❗Refusal to drink fluids or signs of dehydration (very little urine, dry lips, no tears when crying) 💧

❗Worsening cough or chest pain

❗If your child looks very unwell or not improving after starting treatment


Keep your child well hydrated, let them rest, and give medications as prescribed.

✅Trust your instincts if your child looks worse than expected. Don’t wait, seek medical care immediately.

💬 Most children recover from influenza with rest and care but knowing what to look out for helps keep them safe.
