Heart attack symptoms can vary from person to person, but common signs include:
Chest pain or discomfort: This may feel like pressure, squeezing, fullness, or pain in the center or left side of the chest. It can last for more than a few minutes or go away and come back.
Shortness of breath: This may occur with or without chest discomfort and can feel like you're unable to catch your breath.
Pain in other areas of the body: The pain may spread to the shoulders, arms (especially the left arm), back, neck, jaw, or stomach.
Nausea, indigestion, heartburn, or abdominal pain: These symptoms may sometimes be mistaken for other digestive issues.
Cold sweat: Unexplained sweating without physical exertion.
Fatigue: Feeling unusually tired, sometimes for days before a heart attack occurs.
Dizziness or lightheadedness: A feeling of faintness or that you might pass out.
Itโs important to note that symptoms can be different for men and women. Women are more likely to experience non-chest pain symptoms such as shortness of breath, nausea, and back or jaw pain. If you suspect a heart attack, seek emergency medical help immediately.
