VISITING HOURS
Visitors play a vital role in the healing process. On the other hand, rest is critical for a patient. As a result, visiting hours and rules may differ between wards/units, particularly in Intensive Care Units.
Visitors are asked to enter through the Main Lobby (3rd Floor Sacred Heart Building). They shall not be permitted to enter the medical center after 9:00 PM. All guests and visitors are strongly advised to wash their hands or perform hand hygiene before entering a patient's room.
I. Guidelines
Effective 01 February 2023, visiting times shall be as follows:
A. Non-Critical Areas:
A.1 Presidential Suite, CICM and Suites Rooms, PR Deluxe, and Private Rooms: ⭕9:00am to 9:00pm
A.2 Semi-PR and Wards: ❌Not yet allowed.
B. All Intensive Care Units: ⭕10:00am - 11:00am/5:00pm - 6:00pm
🔴Children under the age of five (5) are not permitted to visit; however, if the patient requests it, they may be allowed to coordinate with the nurse on duty, the attending physician, and the security guard on duty. The family must prepare children for what to expect, and they must be supervised by a responsible adult who is not the patient.
🔴Any visitor who has been exposed to or has a communicable disease (tuberculosis, measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, flu, or a cold or cough) shall be strictly prohibited from visiting patients.
🟡To respect the privacy of the patients, it is best to limit the number of visitor/s to one (1) at a time for Private Rooms or two (2) visitors at a time for Suites and CICM Rooms. If there are too many visitors, the Hospital's Main Lobby Lounge and Canteen are pleasant places to wait. The family shall plan their visits, so they do not overwhelm the patient. While visitors’ support is appreciated, patients' need for rest during their recovery shall be respected.
🔴The Hospital may ask visitors to leave for a short period while care is delivered or during some medical procedures.
🟡Visitors should respect the privacy of others, stay quiet, and remain in the room they are visiting or in the waiting area. The Hospital provides a calm and restful environment to help all the patients to recover. Visitors and watchers are requested to refrain from making noise.
🔴Visitors should not sit or lie on patient beds to prevent cross-infection. Only one (1) watcher/companion is allowed per patient. However, two (2) companions (can be alternating) for pediatric patients and patients with special needs shall be allowed.
🚫Bringing fi****ms, smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages, and gambling are strictly prohibited in all areas of the Hospital.
📵The use of cellular phones is prohibited where critical medical equipment is in operation and, within six feet of any electronic patient care equipment.
💐Flowers for patients are welcome, but there are some areas where flowers cannot be permitted under any circumstances, especially in intensive care units where they may promote infection. The Hospital encourages visitors to check in with the nursing staff before sending or bringing flowers. While bringing latex balloons which can cause allergic reactions are not permitted anywhere in the Hospital.
👨✈️The assistance of the Security Guard on duty shall be asked to ensure compliance with the visiting guidelines.
🔇In compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012, it is not permitted to film or take photographs of patients, staff, procedures, etc. Professional videos or photos meant for publication can only be recorded or taken with the permission of the Hospital Administration.
⁉Any unusual visiting circumstances shall be discussed with the Information and Admissions Department or the Nurse on duty so that the Hospital can make any necessary accommodations based on the patient's situation.
II. Special Considerations
A. A religious small group may be allowed to pray over, provided that the patient's status is stable and there is no ongoing procedure at the bedside. The guard should coordinate with the head nurse/charge nurse of the unit. 🕎✝☪☦🔯
B. For Patients who request to be "left alone/without visitors," a "NO VISITORS ALLOWED" signage or notice posted at the door of the room may be placed. ⛔
