What is the way of the superior man?
The way of the superior man is about giving. Its about giving who you are to the world, and its about giving yourself more and more deeply to the world, to your woman, to your family, to everyone. To do this we need to grow, and we grow through three basic stages:
1) In the first stage, we want to grow for our own sake. As man we might say, “I would like to make some money for myself”. And if we are in the first stage, that is as far as we go. We choose to make money for our own sake.
2) Overtime we grow to the second stage, which is when we want to share and cooperate with other people. A man we may feel, “I would like to make money not only for my sake, but to take care of my family, to invest in my community, and to better the world”. So where as the first stage is about making yourself more full, better, acquiring more money, the second stage is about sharing with others, being cooperative, and working for the sake of the whole.
3) The third stage is about realizing that everything is only change. Everything changes, who you are changes, everything you build changes, and change means death. So the beginning of the way of the superior man is to face not only your own death, but the death of everything you can build, create, and make. In the third stage of our life, when we are here to give, we are coming from the depths of our heart, feeling our deepest purpose, offering our love outwards, and we realize that nobody may accept what we have to give. Our art that we create may not be received, our love we that we have to give may not be received. A superior man doesn’t not stop giving merely because he is not received. He many never be acknowledged, he may never receive what he feels he deserves for what he gives, but the superior man is the giving. He lives as a gift. To do so, he needs to feel deep within himself and deeply into the world at the same time. The superior man feels deeply in himself: WHO AM I? Who am I most deeply? To give your deepest gift, one must know: who am I? So to know who am I at my most deepest place is the beginning of relaxing as a superior man.
