To every participant who joined us - you brought the theme “Innovation for Inclusion: Building Inclusive Communities Together” to life through your presence and stories. You showed us that true innovation happens when we embrace our diverse abilities and unite our strengths.

To our exceptional speakers, your willingness to open your hearts and share your deepest insights created ripples of understanding that will extend far beyond this week. You transformed complex concepts into relatable truths, showing us that inclusion isn’t just policy or practice - it’s humanity at its finest.

The kids explored, cooked, and laughed together, turning ordinary activities into special memories. Every smile and small achievement reminds us how meaningful these moments are. It’s amazing to see how each little moment helps them grow and believe in themselves.

Thank you to all our dedicated staff, and to all the parents for making this event possible who inspire us with their love and support for their children. Together, we make every day brighter and every child feel valued.

Last May 8, 2025, PhilHealth employees participated in a special seminar focused on workplace ergonomics, led by Dr. Mildred Guimpayan and Sir Jonathan Elago. The event provided practical tips and demonstrations on how to improve comfort and reduce the risk of pain or strain during desk work.

By learning and applying basic ergonomic strategies, our staff can enjoy a healthier, more comfortable workday. Taking small steps toward better posture and movement can make a big difference in productivity and overall well-being at the office.

Leveling Up SCI Care: Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapists Join at Philippine Orthopedic Center Seminar-Worskhop
Held at the Philippine Orthopedic Center - Department of Rehabilitation Medicine | May 5–9, 2025

A week-long training session for our dedicated Occupational and Physical Therapists has just concluded, an enriching experience filled with new knowledge, hands-on learning, and updated techniques aimed at better supporting individuals with Spinal Cord Injury (SCI).

With the theme “Advanced Spinal Cord Injury Care: Fostering Inclusion Through Collaborative Treatment,” our representatives joined fellow therapists from various hospitals across the Philippines in a seminar-workshop hosted by the Philippine Orthopedic Center – Department of Rehabilitation Medicine.

Throughout the event, participants deepened their understanding of splinting techniques and explored practical strategies to help SCI patients regain independence and reintegrate into their communities.

They also had the unique opportunity to experience, firsthand, the everyday challenges faced by individuals living with SCI offering them greater empathy and insight into the crucial role of mobility aids and adaptive tools in daily life.

We are deeply grateful to the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation – Philippine Orthopedic Center for generously sharing their expertise and fostering a spirit of nationwide collaboration. This experience not only strengthened our clinical skills but also reaffirmed our shared commitment to delivering compassionate, inclusive, and patient-centered care.

𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟰, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹!

During a meaningful Cardiac Rehabilitation Seminar, our very own PTs, Sir Jonathan and Ma’am Alma, learned how to read ECGs while a person is exercising, a skill that helps monitor how the heart responds to movement in real time.

But this seminar wasn’t just about building strength, it was about understanding the heart better and gaining the knowledge needed for a safer, smarter recovery.

Because every heartbeat counts, especially when you’re moving toward healing.

🧸 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫-𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 - Wheelchairs were provided to children and adults with spinal cord injury and cerebral palsy diagnoses.
🎁 𝐆𝐢𝐟𝐭-𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 - Special tokens and gifts brought joy to our patients and their families.
🎅𝐅𝐮𝐧 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 (Games and Intermission) - Games were played by parents and special children, spreading laughter and cheers. Special mention to ma'am April, sir Adrian, ma'am Arceli and ma'am Sheryl for being the game-masters of the said activity; also a huge thank you for the students of Balai ni Sofia who gave a singing and instrumental intermissions.
🔔 𝐋𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 - A delicious meal was sponsored by Hill's Diner, Le Monet Hotel and 99 Silog Meals to close our celebration on a warm and fulfilling note.

Pizza-making fun with the kids! 🍕✨

Our Occupational Therapists and a department nurse helped these little chefs develop their motor skills and teamwork through a hands-on pizza-making activity. From chopping foods to placing toppings, every step was an opportunity to learn, grow, and have a blast! The best part? Sharing their creations at the end. 🫶🏼

Our team conducted an engaging lecture session, sharing simple yet effective exercises to relieve tension and stay energized throughout the day. From neck and shoulder stretches to wrist and back exercises, these movements help keep us healthy and focused.

Special thanks to our Chief of the Department, Dra. Mildred Guimpayan, and Sir Jonathan Elago for their dedicated service and expertise during the event, “Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program Lecture Series: Prevention and Management of Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSD).” This insightful lecture was held on September 25, 2024, at the DSWD-CAR Regional Training Center in Baguio City.
