CJ Moran Community Legal Assistance Office CJMM Community Legal Assistance Office is the official Legal Aid Clinic of Saint Louis University Founded on April 18, 2015, the Chief Justice Manuel V.

Moran Community Legal Assistance Office (CJ Moran CLAO) is envisioned as the center of active involvement in social transformation in the Cordillera. By rendering free legal services to indigents in Baguio and Benguet and maintaining active involvement in public interest cases, our legal assistance office strives to accomplish a two-fold goal, that is, to initiate systemic changes and improvements to the local communities we serve and advocate the rights of our clientele, all whilst staying true to our commitment of effectively training the students of the Saint Louis University - School of Law to be ethical, competent, and socially involved by giving them a genuine opportunity to hone their fundamental lawyering skills within the context of community legal service.

In celebration of Family Fair Day on October 5, 2025 (Sunday), CJMM CLAO, the official legal aid clinic of Saint Louis University and Saint Louis University School of Law, in partnership with the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), offered free legal aid services and hosted an information booth at Malcolm Square, Baguio City, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Law student practitioners (LSPs), under the supervision of Atty. Davy Roger N**o and Atty. Jasmine Quiaรฑo, conducted legal consultations and provided information on CJMM CLAOโ€™s programs and activities to promote accessible and responsive legal services for all.

This activity aligns with the Laudato Siโ€™ Goal of Community Involvement and Participation and contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.

The event underscored CJMM CLAOโ€™s commitment to making legal support accessible to all and strengthening community engagement through public service initiatives. For this activity, CJMM CLAO and SLU SOL served a total of 13 clients.

Red-tagging has emerged as a dangerous weapon wielded against dissent, effectively silencing activists, journalists, organizations, and individuals in the Philippines. This appalling practice undermines our democratic principles, mislabeling legitimate criticism and advocacy as threats to national security. The implications of red-tagging are profound, as it can stifle free speech, discourage civic engagement, and create a climate of fear.

Dissent is not an act of terrorism but an indispensable component of a vibrant democracy. Societies must uphold the rule of law, protect human rights, and ensure that individuals can freely express their beliefs without fear of reprisal.

Plunder is one of the gravest crimes a public official can commit. Under Philippine law, it means stealing or amassing ill-gotten wealth of at least โ‚ฑ50 million through corruption and abuse of power. But beyond its legal definition, plunder is something we Filipinos experience in real life.

When billions are stolen, projects that are supposed to save lives, such as proper flood control, durable infrastructure, and disaster preparedness, are left unfinished, substandard, or completely neglected. Every time we wade through floods, witness incomplete roads, or see families devastated by calamities, we are seeing the real cost of plunder.

Amid corruption scandals and questions about where public funds truly go, it is more important than ever to take a stand. Plunder is not โ€œpolitics as usualโ€โ€”it is outright theft from the people.

Fake warrants of arrest pose a serious threat to the safety, rights, and freedoms of individuals across the Philippines. These fraudulent documents are used by scammers or unscrupulous individuals to unlawfully detain, extort, or intimidate innocent citizens.

It is important to know that an authentic warrant of arrest is issued only by a competent court and must strictly comply with legal requirements. If you or your family members are served with a warrant, always verify its authenticity by contacting the Philippine National Police (PNP) or local courts.

On September 18, 2025, CJMM CLAO conducted a comprehensive Data Privacy Seminar for Child and Family Service Philippines, Inc. (CFSPI) at Easter Village, Baguio City. This event was designed to elevate awareness and understanding of data privacy regulations and practices, ensuring that organizations protect their clients' personal information effectively.

The seminar covered critical topics, including the principles of data privacy, the significance of consent, effective data protection measures, and the profound implications of non-compliance with data privacy law. Participants engaged in dynamic discussions about the challenges and responsibilities of managing sensitive information in social services.

LSP 2 Frank Alamora, who expertly shared insights and real-world examples to illustrate key concepts, led the session. The team was also composed of LSP 1 Leonel Ganaban and Jeremy Hidalgo, who served as the technical team. LSP 1 Honey Jane Valera also joined the team. The team reinforced learning and engagement throughout the seminar.
