Safe Paws PH No amount is big or small, only a kind heart to make the difference.... Promote the animal-human bond through outreach, education and therapeutic programming.

Safe Paws is a Baguio City-based animal resource group committed to promoting the animal-human bond and nurturing relationships with companion animals which are guided by compassion. It is our mission to:

Reduce the number of unwanted animals through aggressive spay/neuter programs. Help provide for the well-being of companion animals in need, find each animal a lifelong, loving home. Offer affordable wellness services and resources to pets and owners in need, targeting underserved communities, to support whole-life care. And, act as an advocate on behalf of animals in crisis and as an enforcer of their rights and protection. Safe Paws is not created to rival with any other Animal Rescue Groups but act as a supporting aide to their missions. Safe Paws gets its own funding from the members' group efforts. Safe Paws believes that No amount is big or small, only a kind heart to make the difference....

And, act as an advocate on behalf of animals in crisis and as an enforcer of their rights and protection.

Sad Picture 😢😢
Let us be vigilant in our fight to end the dog meat trade and the continous personal consumption of dog meat even in our neighborhood.

A Picture Worth a Thousand Words

This photo has been shared many times on social media and is very poignant and captures the sad reality for so many dogs in Asia….

We have been told countless times that dogs slaughtered for meat are ‘different’ to pet dogs… That they are less worthy and that it is their “destiny” to be slaughtered. But we have met these dogs. We have looked them in the eyes and we see their soul and, more poignantly, we see their fear. Despite their treatment and the utter betrayal, many dogs in markets come to the bars – head bowed, tail wagging submissively – their craving for human touch, for reprieve, is overwhelming.

The absolute fear in their eyes is haunting.
We will never give up the fight to end the dog meat trade.

NAMELESS PUP STORY

Dear kind human offered my mum food yesterday,

Thank you so much for thinking of us, mommy was so excited and happy when you threw that piece of meat to her. She hadn't had any good meal in months and most days I can't get enough milk because mum is always hungry.

Mums still sleeping since she ate your valuable gift yesterday. Im scared and hungry and she's not responding to me like she used to do. I miss her cute smile and warm kisses. Would you know what's wrong with her? This morning a kid noticed me hiding and started shouting and stoning me, mamma stood still. She didn't cover me like she used to do. What if she didn't wake up anytime soon? Who will feed me? Who will keep me warm and protect me? Would you have another sleeping piece of meat for me? I'd rather sleep next to her till she's up then have to face the human world all by myself.

Thank you dear human, thank you for your generosity and kindness. My mum never had a home, she was never loved or hugged. Mum's face and body is full of bruises and wounds caused by other humans but she still loves you all though she can't understand why you never liked her back. I love you too, even the little kid who stoned me this morning. Hope we can be friends one day.

I have to go back and lay next to mum.

Just another pup waiting for their mum to wake up 🐾

-This little pup was found couple of days ago laying next to the crops of it's mum who was poisoned by municibility thugs in Amman, Jordan.

AT bakit parang walang ginagawa ang BAI? Naglipana ang mga breeders na walang permit?

SECTION 2 of the Animal Welfare Act. No Person, association, partnership, corporation, cooperative or any government agency or instrumentality including slaughter houses shall establish, maintain and operate any pet shop, kennel, veterinary clinic, veterinary hospital, stockyard, corral, stud farm or stock farm or zoo for the breeding, treatment, sale or trading, or training of animals without first securing from the Bureau of Animal Industry a certificate of registration therefore.

The certificate shall be issued upon proof that the facilities of such establishment for animals are adequate, clean and sanitary and will not be used for, nor cause pain and/or suffering to the animals. The certificate shall be valid for a period of one (1) year unless earlier cancelled for just cause before the expiration of its term by the Director of the Bureau of Animal Industry and may be renewed from year to year upon compliance with the conditions imposed hereunder. The Bureau shall charge reasonable fees for the issuance or renewal of such certificate.
The condition that such facilities be adequate, clean and sanitary, and that they will not be used for nor cause pain and/or suffering to the animals is a continuing requirement for the operation of these establishments. The Bureau may revoke or cancel such certificate of registration for failure to observe these conditions and other just causes.
