STATEMENT OF INTENT AND VISION FOR PAP
My motivation to serve on the PAP Board of Trustees stems from a deep commitment to making psychological services accessible, affordable, and sustainable for the Filipino people, particularly those in underserved rural communities and marginalized sectors. Through years of working with local government units, volunteer organizations, and disaster response teams, I have witnessed firsthand the disparity in mental health resources between urban centers and rural areas. This drives my vision of bringing mental health care to every corner of the country.
My extensive work in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) in disaster-stricken areas nationwide, as well as my experience in providing psychological assessments and interventions for abused children, children at risk, and children in conflict with the law, have shaped my advocacy. These experiences have shown me the urgent need to innovate ways of delivering services that are culturally sensitive, community-driven, and financially feasible.
If given the opportunity to serve, I aim to strengthen PAP’s presence at the grassroots level by developing community-based service delivery models and expanding preventive mental health programs. I also envision PAP as a hub for collaborative learning where practitioners, students, and allied professionals can share knowledge and best practices.
By promoting capacity-building initiatives, mentorship programs, and strategic partnerships, we can extend psychological services beyond traditional settings. My advocacy is anchored in the belief that mental health is a right, not a privilege. Through innovation, collaboration, and shared purpose, I hope to help PAP lead a nationwide movement where no community is left behind.
