Sustained Health Initiatives of the Philippines (SHIP)-Protects UPSCALE is a community-based organization that supplements the workforce in the fight against HIV-AIDS. With the additional mobilized HIV groundworkers from SHIP, more services are offered, and more people have been reached with these services. Their advocacy on the holistic approach to HIV has brought help to people who are in dire need of it, eventually making HIV treatment and care accessible.

The field staff deployed by Global Fund together with the staff of the Department of Health Cordillera Center for Health Development- National AIDS, STI Prevention and Control Program (NASPCP) had another preliminary meeting with the Saint Louis University OSA Dean, Chief Medical Technologist of the SLU Clinical Laboratory, and University Physician for a partnership.

The proposed partnership envisions highlighting one of Project NAMNAMAโ€™s pillars, Healthy Schools.

Envisioning a future of aware and responsible youth, the seminar stood as an avenue of learning and dialogue as we saw eagerness among the participants in understanding reproductive health and HIV/AIDS prevention.

SK Chairperson - Hon. Lyka Mae C. Barbosa led the seminar as its emcee. Mr. Justin Joseph Almarvez, Case Finder, started the program with a lecture on Adolescent Reproductive Health highlighting the changes one encounters as they grow old and the importance of practicing safe s*x. This was followed by a lecture on HIV/AIDS led by Ms. June L. Sannad - HIV Community Mobilization Officer. The participants were given a 101 on HIV, emphasizing its transmission and combination prevention strategies. The seminar was met with positivity paired with the mobile HIV Screening Services provided by the team.
