Serenity in the Steps, the leading agent for the education and treatment of PSUD’s, in cooperation with officials from Baguio City Social Welfare Department, members of the Baguio PNP, the Area Service Representative of Narcotics Anonymous and Representatives from various Barangays presented to face and disseminate information in an effort to find resolution to the disease we all know as Addiction
. Also presented were drug classifications and its effects on moods, thoughts and behaviour. Other topics highlighted in the lecture are: stigma, the progression of an addict, codependency and family dysfunctions that catered to an overall general perspective of the disease, in which biological of environmental factors can be the cause or is an effect of such factors. As a continuing process to help alleviate PSUD’s from their affliction and combat the stigma of addiction in society, these small steps taken by Serenity in the Steps, Baguio CSWD, Baguio PNP, NA and volunteers from officials of the surrounding Barangays and other affiliates, can aid the general public in living a simpler and healthier life. It is about time to start a healthy lifestyle be it, emotional, material spiritual and psychological for the betterment of society and the nation.
