𝑳𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑳𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒄𝒚: 𝑹𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓, 𝑨𝒅𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆, 𝑨𝒄𝒕. 𝑲𝒆𝒆𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑳𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝑨𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆.

In observance of the 2026 International AIDS Candlelight Memorial, this year’s theme emphasizes remembering those who lost their lives to HIV, supporting people living with HIV, promoting equitable access to prevention, treatment, care, and services, and strengthening collective efforts to end stigma and discrimination.

The Municipality of Bakun commemorated the 2026 International AIDS Candlelight Memorial during the flag raising ceremony on May 18, 2026, as a reminder of the importance of compassion, awareness, and continued action toward an HIV-free and stigma-free community.

📢 Health Awareness during Flag Ceremony | May 4, 2026

Dr. Krizyl discussed the DOH calendar of activities for the month of May, focusing on Hypertension Awareness Month. She shared important information about hypertension—a condition in which the force of blood against the artery walls is consistently too high.

This activity aims to raise awareness and encourage everyone to take proactive steps in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Health and Wellness Screening Activity

A successful 2-day Health and Wellness Screening Activity was conducted in Barangay Ampusongan and Barangay Gambang, delivering comprehensive and preventive care to residents.

Services provided included: Cervical Screening Tests, Eye Screening using Snellen Chart, Clinical Breast Examination, Nutrition Counselling, PhilPEN Risk Assessment, HIV Screening, Sputum Collection, and PPD Testing.

In addition, Ms. Michiko Claudio, a physical therapist extended support through physical therapy services, promoting mobility, recovery, and overall well-being.

Together, we continue to empower communities through accessible, proactive, and life-saving healthcare services. 💪🩺

Saving Lives, One Drop at a Time ❤️🩸

A successful Mobile Blood Donation Drive was conducted in Barangays Sinacbat, Poblacion, and Dalipey during the celebration of their respective fiestas. In partnership with the Philippine Red Cross - Benguet Chapter, a total of 57 blood bags were collected—bringing hope and a second chance to those in need.

Our heartfelt thanks to all volunteer donors and partners for making this life-saving activity possible. Your generosity truly makes a difference!

𝗕𝗲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲, 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱, 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆!

The Bakun Municipal Health Office delivered essential services during the Bakun Youth Assembly held at Dap-ayan Function Hall, Pico, La Trinidad on April 19, 2026.

Services provided included Health and Wellness Assessment, HIV Screening and Counselling, and Blood Typing—bringing accessible and preventive healthcare closer to our young community.

Together, we build a healthier and more informed generation!
