The members of the Local AIDS and Blood Council held their meeting at the Municipal Function Hall, Ampusongan, Bakun. Mr. Darwin Simsim, the Communicable Disease Cluster Head at PHO Benguet, delivered a comprehensive discussion on HIV, AIDS and Project Namnama. Ms. Kristine Quilala, Nurse from Philippine Red Cross - Benguet Chapter, provided an orientation on Voluntary Blood Donation Program.

After the meeting, a Mobile Blood Donation Drive was conducted, resulting in a collection of 16 bags of blood.

All are encouraged to donate blood to help sustain the community’s adequate and safe blood supply.

𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐖𝐀𝐘 𝐓𝐎 𝐅𝐈𝐓 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐅𝐀𝐁𝐔𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐒

One of the ways to promote a healthy workplace is through physical activity. With this, the Bakun MHO personnel spearheaded a Dance Fitness Activity at the Municipal Plaza, joined by LGU employees and community members.

The activity, designed especially for municipal employees, aims to promote health and wellness in the workplace by combining fitness with fun. Through lively dance routines, participants are encouraged to stay active, reduce stress, and strengthen camaraderie. This initiative not only supports physical well-being but also boosts morale and productivity, contributing to a healthier and more positive work environment.

The Dance Fitness Activity will be held every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at the Municipal Plaza from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable attire and to bring their own drinking water.

Noong ikatlong linggo ng Agosto, nagsagawa ng Oplan Taob at Clean-up Drive ang mga empleyado ng RHU at iba’t ibang BHS sa lahat ng barangay sa Bakun. Nakilahok din ang ilang myembro ng barangay council, barangay appointees, volunteers at kasapi ng komunidad.

Layunin nitong sugpuin ang mga sakit na dala ng lamok sa pamamagitan ng pagtanggal ng kanilang pinamumugaran.

Hinihikayat ang lahat ng pamilya at residente na sama-samang mag-‘𝗧𝗔𝗢𝗕, 𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗧𝗔𝗞, 𝗧𝗨𝗬𝗢, 𝗧𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗣’.

Panatilihing malinis ang kapaligiran at itapon ang naipong tubig para sa isang ligtas at malusog na komunidad!

𝗕𝗮𝗸𝘂𝗻 𝗠𝗛𝗢 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗔𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹

Bakun Municipal Health Office conducted an Adolescent Reproductive Health Activity at Ampusongan National High School on August 4, 2025. Various activities were held throughout the event. The participants first underwent screening, which included vital signs assessment and medical history taking.

Ms. Aileen Bacduyan, RMT, facilitated a Social and Behavior Change Communication session on HIV, which was followed by HIV testing and ABO blood typing. Ms. Leonora Martin, RN, delivered a talk entitled “A Guide to Prevent Early Pregnancy Among Adolescents.”

A drawing and painting contest was also conducted, where participants were grouped into three teams. Each group created artwork based on the theme: “How Teenage Pregnancy Affect Mental Health.” A gallery walk followed, where participants reflected on their thoughts and emotions throughout the activity.

The event concluded with a synthesis session and the awarding of winners for the Drawing and Painting Contest.

An ARH activity will also be conducted in the other barangays of Bakun this month of August.
